America needs a third party for the 2008 presidential election....

How about a Protect the Constitution Party...? And a Protect the Constitution Party candidate for President of the United States?

Then we could go to the polls and zap all the open-borders, amnesty-first, North American Union-supporting incumbent-U.S. Congress-members and presidential candidates who refuse to protect the Constitution and enforce the rule of law.

Our campaign slogan could be: "It's law-enforcement and close our borders first, stupid!! Amnesty be damned!!"

Our candidates could make a Protect Our Borders and Sovereignty Contract with America and win.... hands down. Election over. The End!

Soooo......, wuddayathinkaboutit...?

Is the U.S.A. being replaced by a "North American Union" of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico...?

Folks, this is so way-out-there, I found myself reading with astonishment---first Jerome Corsi's article (part of which is included below, in the latter part of this posting), and then in links I googled. Both left me wondering how could this be? And asking how could something so foolhardy as this have covertly been wrought under the radar and behind the American people's backs?

I don't see how American citizens and elected U.S. Congress-members can allow such a blurring of American sovereignty by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), NAFTA provisions, and the manipulation of rules and the regulatory process by the Executive Branch---under the direction of the President of the United States, who is acting in concert with the leaders of Canada and Mexico. Without an act of Congress, amendment to the Constitution, or popular vote of the American people!

When I googled "North American Union," these links, among many, appeared:;

It is curious that U.S. Senator John Cornyn, R-TX, is listed in "Acknowledgements" of the Council of Foreign Relations' Independent Task Force. Yet, I found no reference to any other member of the U.S. Congress.

One of CFR's major goals and objectives listed in the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America SECURITY AGENDA" at agenda is as follows:

"3) Further streamline the secure movement of low-risk traffic across our shared borders
Develop and implement a border facilitation strategy to build capacity and improve the legitimate flow of people and cargo at ports of entry within North America.

Identify, develop, and deploy new technologies to advance our shared security goals and promote the legitimate flow of people and goods across our borders...."

But wait until you read what's in the CFR's "Building a North American Community: Report of the Independent Task Force on the Future of North America..., Sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations in Association with the Canadian Council of Chief Executives and the Consejo Mexicano de Asuntos Internacionales," in a pdf file at

Recommendations, statements and proposals from the non-governmental CFR's Independent Task Force include the following, which I have numbered:

1. "Establish a common security perimeter by 2010..."
2. "Develop a North American Border Pass..."
3. "Develop a unified North Amrican border action plan..."
4. "Expand border infrastructure..."
5. "Lay the groundwork for the free flow of people within North America..."
6. "Cooperation on counter-terrorism and law enforcement..."
7. "Establish a tri-national ballistics and explosives registration and joint training for law enforcement officials..."
8. "Expand NORAD into a multi-service Defense Command..."
9. "Increase information and intelligence sharing at the local and national levels in both law enforcement & military organizations..."
10. "Spread the Benefits of Economic Development..."
11. States "Mexico is also the leading source of unauthorized migration, with attendant economic and security problems and untold hardships for Mexican migrants..."
12. Proposes a "regional alternative to Kyoto..."
13. Proposes "Creating a North American Economic Space... a common economic zone..."
14. Proposes to "Establish a Seamless North American Market for Trade..." rationalizing that "border officials do not need to inspect the origins of the products crossing the border" and need to "worry less about other routine customs matters..."
15. Proposes to "Establish a permanent tribunal for North American dispute resolution..."
16. Proposes to "Adopt a North American approach to regulation and ensure rapid implementation of the North American regulatory action plan..."
17. Proposes "Open Skies and Open Roads..."
18. Proposes "Integrating protection of food, health and environment..."
19. Proposes to "Increase Labor Mobility within North America" and to "Expand temporary migrant worker programs..."
20. Proposes to "Implement the Social Security Totalization Agreement negotiated between the United States and Mexico..." explaining that "This agreement would recognize payroll contributions to each other's systems..."
21. Proposes to "Create a North American Preference..." in order to "streamline immigration and labor mobility rules that enable citizens of all three countries to work elsewhere in North America with far fewer restrictions than immigrants from other countries..."
22. Proposes to "Create a major scholarship fund for undergraduate and graduate students to study in the other North American countries and to learn the region's three languages..."
23. Proposes to "Shape the way public and private institutions engage in a new concept such as a North American Community..."
24. Proposes a "North American Advisory Council" to handle "various efforts related to North American integration..."
25. Proposes to "Establish a North American Inter-Parliamentary Group" and "formation of a tri-national inter-parliamentary group" to meet every other year.

In their "Conclusion," they state: "Establishment by 2010 of a security and economic community for North America is an ambitious, but achievable goal that is consistent with this principle and, more important, butresses the goals and values of the citizens of North America..."

Sound familiar, folks? It seems to be an expanded version of the rushed-up, open-borders U.S. Senate Immigration Reform bill just steamrolled through by Democrats and pseudo-Republicans. A majority of Senate Republicans wisely voted against the reckless bill, which is a total opposite of Rep. Sensenbrenner's common sense version of the bill that was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives.

This posting's title is in reference to Jerome Corsi's article, "North American Union Already Starting to Replace U.S.A.," at humaneventsonline today. You will see why I was so astonished upon reading it and why I then googled it to find more info on the topic. Excerpts from Corsi's article are below; the highlighting is by yours truly. You can link to it to read the rest.
"In March 2005 at their summit meeting in Waco, Tex., President Bush, President Fox and Prime Minister Martin issued a joint statement announced the creation of the “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America” (SPP). The creation of this new agreement was never submitted to Congress for debate and decision.

Instead, the U.S. Department of Commerce merely created a new division under the same title to implement working groups to advance a North American Union working agenda in a wide range of areas....

SPP is headed by three top cabinet level officers of each country. Representing the United States are Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice....

Reporting in June 2005 to the heads of state of the three countries, the trilateral SPP emphasized the extensive working group structure that had been established to pursue an ambitious agenda....

This is not a theoretical exercise being prepared so it can be submitted for review. Instead, SPP is producing an action agreement to be implemented directly by regulations, without any envisioned direct Congressional oversight....

And again, the June 2005 SPP report stresses: The success of our efforts will be defined less by the contents of the work plans than by the actual implementation of initiatives and strategies that will make North America more prosperous and more secure.

Reviewing the specific working agenda initiatives, the goal to implement directly is apparent. Nearly every work plan is characterized by action steps described variously as “our three countries signed a Framework of Common Principles …” or “we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding …,” or “we have signed a declaration of intent …” etc.

Once again, none of the 30 or so working agendas makes any mention of submitting decisions to the U.S. Congress for review and approval. No new U.S. laws are contemplated for the Bush administration to submit to Congress. Instead, the plan is obviously to knit together the North American Union completely under the radar, through a process of regulations and directives issued by various U.S. government agencies.

What we have here is an executive branch plan being implemented by the Bush administration to construct a new super-regional structure completely by fiat. Yet, we can find no single speech in which President Bush has ever openly expressed to the American people his intention to create a North American Union by evolving NAFTA into this NAFTA-Plus as a first, implementing step.

Anyone who has wondered why President Bush has not bothered to secure our borders is advised to spend some time examining the SPP working groups’ agenda. In every area of activity, the SPP agenda stresses free and open movement of people, trade, and capital within the North American Union.

Once the SPP agenda is implemented with appropriate departmental regulations, there will be no area of immigration policy, trade rules, environmental regulations, capital flows, public health, plus dozens of other key policy areas countries that the U.S. government will be able to decide alone, or without first consulting with some appropriate North American Union regulatory body.

At best, our border with Mexico will become a speed bump, largely erased, with little remaining to restrict the essentially free movement of people, trade, and capital.

Canada has established an SPP working group within their Foreign Affairs department. Mexico has placed the SPP within the office of the Secretaria de Economia and created and extensive website for the Alianza Para La Securidad y La Prosperidad de Améica del Norte (ASPAN). On this Mexican website, ASPAN is described as “a permanent, tri-lateral process to create a major integration of North America.”

The extensive working group activity being implemented right now by the government of Mexico, Canada, and the United States is consistent with the blueprint laid out in the May 2005 report of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), titled “Building a North American Community.

The Task Force’s central recommendation is the establishment by 2010 of a North American economic and security community, the boundaries of which would be defined by a common external tariff and an outer security perimeter. (page xvii)

The only borders or tariffs which would remain would be those around the continent, not those between the countries.... within which the movement of people, products, and capital will be legal, orderly, and safe. Its goal will be to guarantee a free, secure, just, and prosperous North America. (page 3)

What will happen to the sovereignty of the United States? The model is the European Community. While the United States would supposedly remain as a country, many of our nation-state prerogatives would ultimately be superseded by the authority of a North American court and parliamentary body, just as the U.S. dollar would have to be surrendered for the “Amero,” the envisioned surviving currency of the North American Union.

The CFR report left no doubt that the North American Union was intended to evolve through a series of regulatory decisions....

The three leaders highlighted the importance of addressing this issue at their March 2005 summit in Texas. The Security and Prosperity Partnership for North America they signed recognizes the need for a stronger focus on building the economic strength of the continent in addition to ensuring its security. To this end, it emphasizes regulatory issues....

Officials in all three countries have formed a series of working groups under designated lead cabinet ministers. These working groups have been ordered to produce an action plan for approval by the leaders....

Again, the CFR report says nothing about reporting to Congress or to the American people. What we have underway here with the SPP could arguably be termed a bureaucratic coup d’etat. If that is not the intent, then President Bush should rein in the bureaucracy until the American people have been fully informed of the true nature of our government’s desire to create a North American Union...."

My Big Questions:

1. When was our President planning to let the American citizenry in on this multi-cultural, global-view, nation-and-government-altering plan for the U.S.A? After it becomes a fait accompli...?

2. As we're nation-building in Afghanistan and Iraq, is he extra-legally colluding with Canada's and Mexico's leaders to build an amalgam nation comprising all of North America here---by not enforcing border, immigration and labor laws---and in violation of the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law? A nation based upon market demands rather than sovereignty? If so, from where does he, or anyone, derive such authority?

Canada and Mexico did not rush to the aid of the U.S. after the hellacious 9/11 Islamo-fascists' terrorist bomb attacks on American soil. Neither have they aided in the War Against Terrorism in Iraq. Both have been highly critical of the United States and the war.

Canada is an open-borders welfare state that is, itself, divided. The disaffected French-speaking Quebecois have long been separatists and wanted freedom from Canada. Mexico is a failed, lawless, parasitic state whose economy is propped up by their illegal drug trade, human smuggling, export of their Mexican Indian poor into the U.S., and receipt of the renditions of Billion$ drained from the U.S. economy.

Neither is a co-equal of the United States. Both would have much to gain from such an alliance, while the United States and its citizens would be the losers---and vastly outnumbered by populations who do not value the principles and strengths that made this country the most powerful nation in the world. The common denominator of the three would be a disaster for Americans, the end of America as we know it, and a failed experiment in both nation-building and assimilation.

My recommendation to Canada, Mexico, President Bush, the CFR, and all liberal, multi-cultural globalists of the American Left: Fuhgeddaboutit!

A slow-motion demi-fix to stem the illegal-alien invasion of the U.S. southern border.... and not a pittance for the northern border....

Sounds like a perfect recipe for anarchy and terrorism.... and the dumbing-and-culturing-down of America. Not to mention the bankrupting of America's economic system.

I'm not good with that...! Are you...?

Mark Levin says the U.S. "Senate is a runaway train!!"

Mark Levin, whose blog, "And another thing...." is at National Review Online, provides common sense analysis of what's going on in the news, politics, government and world affairs on a daily basis.

Among other postings today, Levin commented on his blog about the U.S. Senate's surrender yesterday, referring to the Senate as a "runaway train" about:

1. Granting "amnesty to hundreds of thousands of thieves who committed fraud, i.e. identity theft"---fooling "employers, the DMV, insurance companies, banks"---and enabling them to later receive U.S. Social Security benefits based upon use of fraudulent I.D. and illegal employment

2. Identifying 12 Republican Senators who are "committed open-borders extremists, led by John McCain, Chuck Hagel, Lindsey Graham, Mel Martinez, and Arlen Specter"---a group in which he also placed President Bush. Open borders, of course, negate the false idea of "earned" citizenship for illegal aliens.

3. Exposing Harry Reid's flip-flop in his use of the "racism" label against Senators---to intimidate them into watering down their English as national language bill they had already passed---effectively reducing it to a politically-correct parody of its original content.

4. Explaining why a 370 mile fence, ca. "60 miles of which is to strengthen already existing fences" along a "southern border that is about 2,000 miles long," would "control" only about 20% of the border. So, what happens to the 80% that is left unsecured? All the un-controlled illegal traffic flow would be diverted to the un-controlled and un-protected 4/5 of the border.

And then there's the fact that we already know the "up to 6,000 National Guard" to be sent to the border will only amount to one third of the 6,000 being on duty at any given time, since they will be working in shifts. Plus, they are not being sent there for enforcement.

Which places a spotlight on the fact that there has been only a token placing of previously mandated-by-law Border Patrol on active duty on the border---since only a very small fraction of them have even been funded and hired.

It looks good on paper and in the news to have passed a law to put additional Border Patrol on the borders, but it is meaningless if those Border Patrol positions are not funded and filled. Then, there's the little matter of ca. 18 months of training for each officer hired. So, why all the foot-dragging?

It's also meaningless to dangle the idea of all kinds of high-tech gizmos and virtual fences to hoodoo us into thinking those will protect us. They won't. Not unless there will be enough Border Patrol officers on duty to respond when they are signaled or informed of an illegal crossing or activity taking place. There will not be---and the Guard will not be used for that purpose.

It doesn't take a rocket-scientist to figure out that this failure to secure and protect our borders is a political decision and an abdication of constitutional duty, rule of law, and law-enforcement.

Who is the chief law enforcer of this democratic republic? The President of the United States. Who has oversight responsibility to see to it that the Executive Branch fulfills it law enforcement responsibility? The U.S. Congress.

Are either of them doing their job? NO.

Sooo...., why don't we all give them a shout out to let them know we expect them to do their jobs, fulfill their constitutional duties, secure our borders, protect our country's sovereignty and enforce all existing U.S. laws.

You can use PelicanPost sidebar links under "Government Sources" do so---and to tell the pro-amnesty, pro-illegal aliens and open borders crowd in Washington that their failure to act according to the will of the American people is unacceptable to you. And that you will vote with your feet in November 2006 and 2008---as fast as they can carry you to the ballot box.

All the touchy-feelie, sound-good, accomplish-nothing measures are just smoke and mirrors to cover up the fact they are not serious about solving the problem of the criminal, possibly terrorist, mass of illegal-aliens invading our borders, demonstrating in our streets, flying foreign flags, and demanding U.S. citizenship through amnesty. As well calling us "white-racists" and using the "Anglo" ethnic-slur against us and shouting "Today we march, tommorow we vote!"

By the way, don't forget to read Mark Levin's blog at the above link....

Them polls.... them polls.... them all-over-the-place-polls....

Some folks' good news polls.... are some other folks' bad news polls.... It's just a fact of life in the political fingers-in-the-wind, all-polls-all-the-time age we live in!

But.... er..., usually they're not the same folks....!

Sooooo......, guess the Democrats' poll numbers in this poll added up to the big "0".... Ho, Ho!

Who needs the National Guard on the U.S.-Mexican border...?

Hey..., that li'l snicky-snake is on to something...!

Who needs the National Guard when a little preventive psychological warfare will do the job...?

But..., um..., wouldn't it be better if the sign were in Spanish.... and Chinese.... and Swahili.... and Arabic.... and Sanscrit.... andonandonandon...? And if ESOL teachers were on hand to interpret for those who can't read...? And li'l toll booths were set up to collect each border-jumper's $28,152.00 share of the National Debt before they enter...?

No tickee, no entry! Sounds like a plan to me....!

Ann Coulter on President Bush's amnesty proposal for illegal immigrants: "Read My Lips: No New Amnesty"

Well, folks, this is one of Ann Coulter's *****Five Star, must read best! I, too, thought GWBush had learned that it's a turn-off when he says "they (illegal-aliens) are just coming here to do jobs Americans won't do."

The bad news is that he didn't. Just today, while giving press ops on the Mexican border, he evidently forgot that canard doesn't poll well---because it rolled right off his lips just as emphatically and insultingly as before. I keep yelling at him about it, but he's become hard of hearing where we mere American citizens are concerned---even those of us who put him in office.

Every time I hear our President spout that tired old lie and insist that a "path to citizenship" is "not amnesty," I feel as if I've been kicked in the teeth---and experience a visceral disappointment and resentment that he doesn't care that the majority of Americans are against amnesty in any form and want our borders secured and our laws enforced---first and foremost.

He should take a page from, of all people, Hillary Clinton's playbook and go on a "listening tour." Not a tour repeating all the worn-out blind rhetoric that would support adding ca. 103 million uneducated and unskilled Mexicans to our citizenry over the next 20 years---and the ensuing Billions of $$$ additional drain from America's public trough. A shut-up-and-listen to what ordinary American's have to say tour.

Why not show American citizens they matter---and what they believe matters---for a change?

Hey..., before ya'll do anything else, read Ann Coulter's column here. A few excerpts are below:
"....someone must have finally told Bush that the point about America being a "nation of immigrants" is moronic. All nations are "nations of immigrants" -- as Peter Brimelow pointed out brilliantly in his 1992 article in National Review on immigration, which left nothing for anyone else to say.

Instead of a moratorium on new immigration, I'd settle for a moratorium on the use of the expression "We're a nation of immigrants." Throw in a ban on "Diversity is our strength" and you've got my vote for life.

Bush has also apparently learned that the word "amnesty" does not poll well.

On Monday night, he angrily denounced the idea of amnesty just before proposing his own amnesty program. The difference between Bush's amnesty program and "amnesty" is: He'd give amnesty only to people who have been breaking our laws for many years -- not just a few months. (It's the same program that allows Teddy Kennedy to stay in the Senate.)

Bush calls this the "rational middle ground" because it recognizes the difference between "an illegal immigrant who crossed the border recently and someone who has worked here for many years." Yes, the difference is: One of them has been breaking the law longer. If our criminal justice system used that logic, a single murder would get you the death penalty, while serial killers would get probation...."

Some U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee members' noses are out of joint that they can't micro-manage the Intel community and its leaders....

Smarting from being left out of every finite detail of CIA and NSA management and operation---- and wanting more eyes-on and hands-on access to classified national security information---some of the many disgruntled members on the Senate Intelligence Committee are taking out their frustrations on General Michael Hayden.

Hayden is up for U.S. Senate Advise and Consent to his assuming the post of Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, for he was nominated by President Bush. To assume this post, he would have to vacate his current post---which is the second highest job at Homeland Security. Second only to NID Negroponte.

By now, all should have figured out that since Hayden was approved for both his former job as Director of the NSA and his current job as Assistant National Intelligence Director, he is certainly qualified to be CIA Director---for it is on a lower tier of the classical model organizational hierarchy.

So, it's clear that what's going on here is some leftist Senators' power struggle to get more access to classified Intel information on a regular basis and advance their policy war against the Bush Administration---whatever the cost in operation, methods and lives.

The reason they haven't been getting that information is that they leak like a colossal collander. And, because they have not been getting the information they crave, it has been illegally leaked from within the Intel community to their surrogates, the leftist mainstream media.

The Intel agencies are not supposed to be political. But, the hard-left Senators have been working overtime, along with the mainstream media and illegal leakers, to obtain and use the leaked and compromised Intel in their shadow-government political war.

In his testimony this morning, Hayden expressed concern over placing politics above national security. He also "insisted on Thursday that the Bush administration's warrantless surveillance program was legal and that it was designed to ensnare terrorists---not spy on ordinary people."

Wouldn't it be interesting---and enlightening---to be able to mine the telephone calls between these shadow-government Intel community leakers, politicians, publishers and broadcasters who coordinate talking points and timing for their illegal exposes that damage national security and serve only their own selfish political ideologies and agendas?

Now that's a classified Intel report I myself would personally LUV to see!

I have been watching some of the Hayden hearing---interrupted every two minutes by a commercial or talking head who butts in just as Hayden is making a complex and interesting point. And by a court hearing for Reade Seligmann, Duke University lacrosse player who is accused of raping a black female college student who was hired to dance at Duke's male lacrosse team frat-style party---where the hazing was apparently of the defenseless female. In the form of a sexual assault, allegedly---an assault including a broomstick. Which calls to mind a brutalized gentleman by the name of Abner Louima.

It's hard to see that court hearing to obtain records and information as even registering on the importance scale of a Congressional hearing to approve the Director of the CIA, which is an important part of Homeland Security. But that's my humble opinion and, unfortunately, they didn't ask me.

Unsurprisingly, Hayden's hearing is beginning to assume the flavor and tenor of Judiciary Committee hearings for Bush's two Supreme Court nominees who were pretty bloodied-up by the hard-left Senate politics-of-personal-destruction and war-demogoguery experts before getting approved.

General Hayden is both intellectually and experientially qualified and has experience in both human and technological intelligence-gathering and analyzing. At the end of the day, he will be approved. Which day is an open question.

Read more below and here.
"Hayden Insists NSA Surveillance Is Legal"

CIA nominee Gen. Michael Hayden insisted on Thursday that the Bush administration's warrantless surveillance program was legal and that it was designed to ensnare terrorists _ not spy on ordinary people.

"Clearly the privacy of American citizens is a concern constantly," the four-star Air Force general told the
Senate Intelligence Committee at his confirmation hearing. "We always balance privacy and security...."

Who's getting inundated by the 20-year, illegal-alien wave that continues to flood into the United States....?

I call it the illegal Mexicanization of America.... the largest human wave of migration in the history of the world.

So, let's re-visit what we posted yesterday: The Hagel-Martinez bill pending in the U.S. Senate, if passed, will bring in 103 million more extended family members over the next 20 years as a result of "guest worker" amnesty for current illegal aliens.

Strange, isn't it? If they are "guest workers," why is it necessary to grant them citizenship? If they are made citizens, they are no longer "guest workers." Then who will do the work "Americans won't do?" More "guest workers" who can also become citizens and vote? Looks more like a political-smokescreen revolving plan for mass migration.

If Israel had granted citizenship to Palestinian "guest workers," they would have allowed the Palestinians to take over Israel by sheer numbers. Instead, they gave some Palestinians temporary work permits that could be revoked for national security purposes, if need be.

Mexico is pulling a PLO guest-work-to-populate trick on America---and, unlike Israel's, our national security and sovereignty are not being protected.

It's what President Bush did NOT say in his "immigration reform" address, stupid...!

Well, political consultant Dick Morris, here, believes President Bush's national address on immigration reform was a "great speech" and included all the necessary "elements it had to." And that it may "help lay the ground work for a comeback."

I don't. I believe it was the same platitudes, qualifiers, and disguised amnesty we have already heard overandoverandover. It's a Casper-milk-toast, politics-first "solution"---along the lines of AZ Gov. Janet Napolitano's piddling hands-tied National Guard-to-the-border "solution." And it's making conservatives like me fighting mad!

When interviewed, Morris opined that "the presidential plan to beef up the southern border fence in both real and virtual terms is both the "key to securing the border and securing the president's base.” He sees it as "the key to keeping the GOP competitive with Hispanic voters” and "leaving open paths to citizenship for those already in the country, albeit illegally, will serve to make "Latinos a GOP stronghold...."

He also "warned that the Republicans risk losing its dominance in the near future if it doesn’t grab a larger share of Hispanic voters. Hispanics are rapidly growing in the U.S., especially in states like Florida, Texas, and other states once considered strongly GOP...."

While I agree with some of what Dick Morris says, I keep in mind that he is a political animal and sees this issue primarily from a political strategy perspective.

What he seems to have missed, along with all of the cable newscasters and journalists, is that the President did NOT say he would be sending 6,000 troops to the border. He said he would be sending UP TO 6,000 troops to the border---for a one year period. As in a department store sale advertisement, "up to" indicates an undefined amount that can actually be a smaller percentage than you envisioned and make you angry that you took the bait.

Bush did not say what actions would be taken against the rest of the multitude of lawbreaking employers nationwide. We've just seen a news splash about arrests of officials of a couple of companies who have cheated---but nothing is being done nationwide on a substantial scale. Makes it look as if this was window-dressing in the run up to the big address last night. Or, you might refer to it as selective targeting and unequal treatment of a few lawbreaking companies while letting the vast majority of the cheats skate.

And Bush continues to provide no rational justification for why illegal-alien lawbreakers should be allowed to become "guest workers" who automatically have a path to U.S. citizenship---or for why future Mexican "guest workers" should be allowed to come to the U.S., in greater numbers, in the citizenship line---ahead of visa-applicant immigrants from other countries who have been waiting long years to come to America---as the case would be if the Hagel-Martinez Bill in the U.S. Senate passes.

Why give preferential treatment to illegal-alien Mexican hordes? And how will they separate the criminals and terrorists from the rest of the pack? Are they going to background-check all of them?

This is a no brainer, really. We know enough about the human wave of people who are flooding across our borders illegally to clearly understand they do not all fit the schmaltzy characterization of them Bush spoon-feeds us. And they are not here "to do jobs Americans won't do!" That false characterization is an insult to American people who are more than willing to work hard for a living legal wage.

Many illegal-aliens are drugs and humans smugglers, violent gang members, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, spies, and terrorists. Our prisons are 27% full of illegal-alien criminals at great cost to American taxpayers and our people are preyed upon by illegal-alien criminals at great human cost. Many come for free (to them) medical care, education and government entitlement benefits they are not legally entitled to receive.

Many are illegally taking jobs away from American citizen teen-agers, minorities, and both skilled and unskilled workers in many types of low to mid-level jobs by working below the minimum and/or standard wage for those jobs. American workers are the losers---as are legal immigrants who have been waiting in line for many years to come here and earn a living legally.

So, close our borders to all but tracked legal traffic and tracked VISA visits, with criminal charges for subverting or abusing either. Then, and only then, should a temporary "guest worker" permit be given to a worker who meets thoroughly-checked-out qualifications to enter and work in this country---and has a sponsoring employer who can prove a need for that worker's particular skills and education level and that he/she has searched for and could not find an American citizen to fill the job. Provided that the employer will be closely monitored for adherance to payment of legal wages and income reporting.

None of these things have been done and lawbreaking U.S. employers of all stripes have abused the system for their own private gain---to the benefit of Mexico and the detriment of American workers.

Existing laws must be enforced to eliminate ALL illegal job opportunities. If those jobs dry up for illegal-aliens, many will voluntarily go back home, others will not come, renditions payments will no longer take money out of the American economy, and public services and healthcare costs would go down.

The same would be true if we had an American citizenship biometric ID card that is required for both employment and entitlements. Employers would have no excuse for hiring anyone who does not have one and the drain on public services and entitlements would cease. There would be a dis-incentive for other illegals to enter this country.

Plus, it would facilitate identification of those who are in this country illegally. Once identified, we could then give them a defined period of time in which to leave, pay for transportation for those who need it, and deport those who refuse to leave.

If Mexican leaders refuse to cooperate, close the borders to them for other purposes until they cooperate, help re-settle their strayed citizens, and provide job opportunities for them in Mexico. And until they stop smuggling illegal drugs, weapons and violent gangs into our country.

America generously provides financial and other forms of aid to foreign countries, but we are not willing to subordinate American workers to foreign guest workers who undermine our labor laws and minimum wage---or trash the rule of law to accommodate the arrogant demands of illegal-aliens for jobs and citizenship.

As to President Bush and Dick Morris, neither can come up with a rational excuse for allowing rendition of multi-billions of dollars to be drained from the U.S. economy to provide the majority of funding for the government of Mexico. Working American taxpayers do not exist to support a lawless, parasitic foreign nation---and none should have to lose their work opportunities to illegal-aliens to enable such an economic drain.

Neither can they come up with an open, honest, fact-based case for ignoring existing law and putting illegal-alien lawbreakers on a "path to citizenship," more correctly identified as de facto amnesty. It undermines respect for and adherence to the law when some laws are enforced and others are not.

Enough! No more! Vigorously enforce our laws first! Then see what else is left to be done after full enforcement has had a legitimate chance to work.

Another related *****Five Star, must read editorial from the Editors of National Review, "Amnesty Undeniable," which includes: "The most important part of Monday night’s speech by President Bush on immigration was not his call for sending unarmed National Guardsmen to temporarily assist the Border Patrol. Rather, it was his formal embrace, for the first time, of citizenship for illegal aliens....

If the purpose of the speech was to shore up the president’s standing with conservatives, it failed.... Only action can reverse doubts about the White House’s commitment to enforcement— ....For instance, the president pledged (yet again) to end the practice of “catch and release” for non-Mexican illegals at the border..., but is still releasing captured illegals back into communities.

....the arrests several weeks ago of nearly 1,200 illegal aliens working for IFCO Systems were widely touted as heralding a new wave of legal action against crooked employers—but then most of the illegals were released within hours of the raids....

In his Oval Office address, the president squandered what was probably his last chance to reconnect with conservatives on immigration.... The speech he actually gave.... is likely further to demoralize conservatives and harden opposition among House Republicans to the Senate amnesty proposal. President Bush’s speech, contrary to its goal, probably ensures that no immigration bill will reach his desk this year. Given the options, that’s probably a good thing...."

Chinese spies in U.S. to be charged by Feds for defense technology theft & conspiracy to export.... one spy will be charged with espionage....

So, were these Chinese spies who failed to register as Chinese government agents in the U.S. legally or illegally? And how is it that any one of them was given a job as a defense contractor or an electrical engineer for a defense contractor---and an opportunity to access sensitive Navy defense information and technology that, in the hands of the Chinese government and military, could endanger our military, warships, aircraft, and defense of this country?

Also, how long have these spies been in the U.S. and in these sensitive jobs? Who checked their backgrounds and hired them? And who will be charged with providing them access to the sensitive priority corporate information and embargoed defense technology documents they stole, passed on to the Chinese government, and attempted to smuggle out of the U.S.?

This *****Five Star, must read breaking news is in a column by Bill Gertz at The Washington Times. Some excerpts are below.
"New charges expected in defense data theft ring"

"Federal prosecutors are expected to add new charges against several people in Los Angeles linked to a covert program to provide China with Navy defense technology and at least one will be charged with espionage, U.S. government officials said.

Defense contractor Chi Mak and his wife, Rebecca Laiwah Chiu, along with brother Tai Mak were arrested last year and charged with failing to register as Chinese government agents after a yearlong counterespionage probe.

Documents obtained after the Oct. 28 arrests provided investigators with new clues about the technology theft ring that included proprietary corporate information and embargoed defense technology related to Navy warships, officials said. Investigators think the spy ring passed the sensitive data to Beijing....

All four will be charged with conspiracy to export defense articles and attempted unlawful export of defense articles. Additionally, Chi Mak, an electrical engineer with the Los Angeles defense contractor Power Paragon, will be indicted on charges of unlawful export of defense articles and gathering defense information, an espionage charge....

Chi Mak is thought to have supplied China with sensitive information about the electrical systems of U.S. warships and submarines, including details of the Virginia-class submarine, and information on a new electromagnetic catapult to launch jets from aircraft carriers....

U.S. officials described Tai Mak, an engineer with Phoenix Television, as an intelligence courier for the Chinese military who was carrying an encrypted computer disk holding defense technology data when he was arrested. Tai Mak also will be charged with aiding and abetting and possession of property to aid a foreign government.

He and his wife were arrested at Los Angeles International Airport as they were about to fly to Hong Kong. Tai Mak was carrying an encrypted disk that FBI officials said contained data on a new technology for destroyers known as quiet electric drive. Earlier charges that Chi Mak, Tai Mak and Rebecca Mak failed to register as Chinese government agents will be kept in the new indictment....

Chi and Tai Mak were born in Guangzhou, China. The new charges were based on thousands of pages of documents found at the home of Chi Mak...."

The U.N. switchboard has to direct calls according to which scandal is at issue....

Problem is...., the scandals multiply like a bunch of sexaholic wabbits. And there's not world enough or time to keep up with all of them....

I agree with David Frum: "The United Nations is the scandal...!"

Recommended reading: Eric Shawn's "The U.N. Exposed: How the United Nations Sabotages America's Security and Fails the World."

Folks, here is a *****Five Star, must read column about Eric Shawn's red-hot new book, "The U.N. Exposed..."

The book goes into extensive in-depth analysis, discussion and detail about the corrupt United Nations. You will find some highlights below---but do read the entire review, as well as the book.
"The U.N. Exposed" is a blistering attack on the world body's corruption, hypocrisies, greed, ineptitude, scandals and crimes against humanity – and it delivers knockout punches on every page.

Shawn, a veteran Fox News Network anchor who has covered the United Nations for years..., reports that today, "less than five miles from Ground Zero in Manhattan, sits an international hotbed of anti-Americanism" ... an organization led by "institutional narcissism" that has fallen from grace in a "decline of its own making...."

In chapter after chapter, many with self-explanatory titles – including "The U.N. Press Corps Cover-Up," "How the U.N. Funds Terrorism" and "The International Anthem – Blame America!" – Shawn details how the U.N. has steadily violated its original mission to prevent future wars by maintaining member nations' forces as "peacekeepers."

Instead, Shawn writes, many of the self-important ambassadors of the U.N.'s 191 member nations, even those from third-world countries, live in lavish residences, are protected by diplomatic immunity.... are chauffered around in limousines, dine in fine restaurants and generally live a lifestyle that "no American not on the Forbes Richest 500 list will ever see...."

....for the honor of hosting America's adversaries and fair-weather "allies," the United States pays a whopping 22 percent of the U.N.'s bloated $1.3 billion annual budget – quite a far cry from Germany (9.82 percent), France (6.5), the United Kingdom (5.57), or Canada (2.57).

Shawn's sweeping exposé includes much more than interesting – and infuriating – factoids.... he discusses the ways in which the United Nations has consistently violated its once-noble raison-d'étre. Among those violations:

1. Failing to investigate the Oil-for-Food program intended to allow Saddam Hussein to sell oil to buy food and medicine for Iraq's starving and sick population. Instead Saddam used the money to enrich himself and buy weapons while France, Russia and China participated in the cover-up, along with U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan's son, Kojo.
2. Failing to sanction Saddam when he "rewarded" Palestinian homicide bombers for murdering Israelis.
3. Failing to conduct internal investigations to uproot corruption and balking at outside monitoring, as it did when former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker's commission – which found "grave" conflicts of interest in the Oil-for-Food program – was unable to subpoena documents or force anyone to testify.
4. Failing consistently to condemn terrorist acts.
5. Supporting some of the world's most oppressive governments.
6. Diverting U.N.-supervised funds into weapons used against American troops.
7. Allowing terrorists and rogue states seeking nuclear weapons to flout U.N. resolutions.
8. Trafficking in kickbacks and bribes.
9. Turning a blind eye to the widespread sexual abuse and exploitation by U.N. "peacekeepers" of girls as young as 12 in Bosnia, Congo, Haiti, Liberia, et al.
10. Electing international thugs like Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the U.N. Disarmament Commission – the day after Iran announced its advanced enrichment of uranium.
11. Electing brutal human-rights violators like Sudan and Libya to the U.N. Commission on Human Rights – with Libya chairing the commission!
12. Failing to prevent the 1994 Rwandan genocide of nearly 1 million people.
13. Failing to intervene effectively or carry out humanitarian aid during the second Congo war that claimed nearly 5 million lives (1998-2002).
14. Failing to intervene in the 1995 Srebrebica massacre.
15. Failing to deliver food to starving people in Somalia.
16. Failing to reveal that a senior official in the U.N. Development Program, Justin Leites, worked for the Kerry presidential campaign while on the U.N. payroll.
17. Being unremittingly racist and anti-Semitic in its dealings with member state Israel.

Shawn's book reinforces what a growing number of ordinary citizens as well as political commentators have come to agree on. As journalist and author David Frum insists, "It's time to wake up to reality: The U.N. scandals are not unfortunate accidents. They are not incidental blots on the reputation of an otherwise idealistic organization. The scandals are inherent in the very structure of the U.N. It could be said that the U.N. itself is the scandal...."

U.S. Senate's plan for amnesty for illegal aliens would admit 103M over the next 20 years....

I don't know about you, but the U.S. Senate's open-borders amnesty plan represents total insanity to me. Our population now is ca. 230M. This plan would be tantamount to a declaration of open borders, scrapping the rule of law, and turning 12M illegal-aliens into 103M U.S. citizens over the next 20 years.

There should be no "guest worker" (a/k/a amnesty) program for people who have deliberately violated our laws---period. Unlike legal immigrants, illegal-aliens have had no screening for health, education, skills, command of English language, or knowledge and respect for U.S. laws---as is required of legal immigrants for U.S. entry, naturalization and citizenship.

Illegal-aliens have already flagrantly broken U.S. border, immigration and labor laws and placed and economic and social drain on our economy, public services, health system, and American taxpayers. They do not deserve to be rewarded with citizenship and the ability to bring in millions of extended family members to further drain and change this country.

The proposed U.S. Senate programs will result in open borders, annihilation of U.S. culture as we know it, and turning the United States of America into a third-world nation. It will bring socialism and economic and political destruction to the most powerful nation in the history of the world.

With no control over unlawful intrusions into our land, population and body politic, there will be an ever-growing permanent class of leftist-backed intruders who advocate and use mob rule and threats of anarchy to undermine and blackmail our government. The large numbers of arrogant illegal-alien throngs demonstrating, protesting in our streets, and demanding amnesty/U.S. citizenship recently were only the beginning.

Without protected borders, the rule of law, U.S. sovereignty integrity, and government answerable to its own legal citizens, we will have no democratic republic to protect. We will have no control over our own country and we will lose the freedoms and rights guaranteed under our Constitution, for we will be living in a socialist state. And the George Soros/Ted Kennedy hard-left socialists will have won.

This article by Robert Rector is a *****Five Star, must read, in which Rector takes apart the Comprehensive Imigration Reform Act now pending in the U.S. Senate and provides statistics that back up his arguments against the CIRA compromise bill devised by Senators Chuck Hagel and Mel Martinez. The Hagel-Martinez compromise is an endorsement for socialism and open borders---coming from, of all places, the soft pseudo-conservative wing of the Republican party. It could just as well have been written by Senator Ted Kennedy and Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

A brief synopsis below:

"How many people would the Senate’s immigration plan allow into the U.S.? Until now, the focus has been on the 10 million illegals to whom the bill would give amnesty.

Robert Rector adds up all the provisions. He finds the Senate plan would admit 103 million--or one-third the current U.S. population—over the next 20 years.

“There is no precedent for that level of immigration at any time in U.S. history,” observes Rector.

The low-skill immigrants who would take advantage of the Senate plan are likely to be a fiscal burden on society...."

"In this paper, Rector projects increased government spending of $46 billion per year or more. The Senate immigration plan 'would be the largest expansion of the welfare state in 35 years....'"

Also read Rector's Amnesty and Continued Low-Skill Immigration Will Raise Welfare Costs and Poverty.
This is a related *****Five Star, must read column, "Amnesty S.O.S.," by Mark Krikorian, Executive Director of the Center for Immigration Studies, about the opportunity costs for supporting illegal-aliens among us and potential amnesty for them. Some excerpts below, the rest here. It starts with a timely joke:

"Senate staffer: “The public is rising up against amnesty!”
White House operative: “Quick, call the National Guard!”

The president will address the nation on immigration tonight and is expected to endorse, among other things, use of the National Guard to help patrol the border. Why such a dramatic gesture? Is there some new emergency that needs to be addressed with new methods? Has something changed in the situation along the border? No—but something has changed in the public mood.

In the wake of illegal aliens massing in the streets, waving Mexican flags, singing “Nuestro Himno,” and insisting that Americans comply with their list of demands—or else—public attitudes toward immigration are hardening, and beginning to have political consequences.

This is an emergency because the Senate will resume debate on an amnesty bill this week (hence the timing of the president’s address....) It’s clear that both the White House and the bipartisan amnesty crowd in the Senate think.... that a spoonful of enforcement will help the amnesty go down. Think again.

Part of the reason the pro-illegal side thinks this way is that the media have told them so. Most of the media polling on the immigration bills before Congress has been indistinguishable from the push polls conducted by pro-amnesty advocacy groups....

Polls are fine, but public support for border control doesn’t usually make itself felt at the ballot box. But that too appears to be changing.... Nebraska last week, immigration toppled the favored candidate in the Republican gubernatorial primary, Rep. Tom Osborne, in what was called “one of the most surprising defeats in Nebraska political history.” (His opponent) Heineman vetoed a bill providing in-state tuition for illegal aliens at state universities, while Osborne approved of the bill....

And just his weekend, pro-amnesty congressman Chris Cannon was forced into a June 27 primary by a wealthy businessman running on a border-control platform....

We don’t know exactly what the president will say tonight—but if it involves anything other than enforcement now, with discussion of legalizing illegals deferred until enforcement actually starts working, then the political tremors are likely to continue, and grow...."

Fascist PFAW umbrella-group organization has pulled out all stops to defeat Black Republican Vernon Robinson in NC 13th Congressional District race...

Well, Vernon Robinson won the North Carolina Republican Primary hands down with 63% in a 3-way race. But now he will be up against one of the most hard-left of liberals in the U.S. Congress---one who has the full-bore support of the "radical, liberal organization,People for the American Way (PFAW), and its fascist President Ralph Neas.

The PFAW has put Vernon's name at the top if its hit list of the 300 most dangerous and outrageous conservatives in America. Guess they have taken Tom DeLay out of that spot now that he has resigned from Congress.

This is what Vernon has to say about why they are targeting him "to be on the receiving end of this year's "PFAW fatwah:"

"Ralph Neas singled me out because he knows that I am unabashedly conservative and am now the Republican Party's only black nominee for Congress in a competitive district that's been targeted by both parties as one of the contests that will decide whether the Democrats win a majority of House seats this November.

If you aren't already familiar with PFAW President Ralph Neas, please allow me to give you a glimpse of who this man is and what he's all about. Ralph Neas is credited by liberals and blamed by conservatives for being the political assassin who is most responsible for derailing President Reagan's nomination of Robert Bork to the Supreme Court. After he led the Left's vile "borking" of Clarence Thomas, Neas developed PFAW into the Left's largest and most effective powerhouse in the fight over judicial nominations.

People for the American Way (PFAW) is now the umbrella group that uses its multi-million dollar budget to advance and coordinate the efforts of more than one hundred radical and extreme organizations that comprise the Old Left, the New Left, and the What's Left. Examples include the Mexican American Legal Defense & Education Fund (MALDEF), the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the National Council of La Raza, Cindy Sheehan's Code Pink, the Alliance for Justice, the NAACP, Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition, Al Sharpton's National Action Network, NARAL, Planned Parenthood, NOW, the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), the radical homosexual Human Rights Campaign, ACT-UP, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, the AFL-CIO, the NEA, the Sierra Club, PETA, the ACLU, Handgun Control,, the Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Socialist Workers' Party.

Notorious Hollywood producer Norman Lear founded PFAW and actor Alec Baldwin now sits on the PFAW Board of Directors. PFAW's limousine liberal donors include Barbra Streisand, The New York Times, and Playboy Enterprises.

Ralph Neas brags that he will unleash what he calls "judicial Armageddon" when the next Supreme Court vacancy occurs. In the meantime, Neas is training his sights on my campaign for Congress by sending out press releases that bash me and dedicating entire pages on PFAW's website to discussing my voting record, quoting my speeches, publishing the text of my television and radio ads, and calling me "bigoted" because of my "Bill Cosby-like statements on race issues" and my outspoken opposition to homosexual marriage and illegal immigration...."

This is the Democrat Vernon will have to face in the November 2006 election: "The incumbent Congressman I'm running against, ultra-liberal personal injury lawyer Brad Miller, has a voting record of supporting open borders, amnesty for illegal aliens, homosexual marriage, flag burning, higher taxes, extreme gun control, taxpayer-financed partial birth abortion, taking "under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance, and allowing foreign alien child molesters and homosexuals to migrate to the United States...."

Since Vernon had to spend so much money on a three-way primary, he is in need of further funding to run against this international amalgam of extremist hard-left organizations, some of which have the backing and support of multi-billionaire George Soros (ie.

I don't work for Vernon, or even know him. But I can see what he's up against and why any Republican might want to see him take away the Congressional seat of any Democrat who is backed by the PFAW and its umbrella group that includes Code Pink and NAMBLA---and "has a 100% approval rating from the liberal Americans for Democratic Action and a 0% approval rating from the American Conservative Union."

Look what's in Mexico's no-nonsense, muscular Immigration Law.... It's an eye-opener!

Surprise! Mexico's Immigration Law has some big honkin' teeth in it that the U.S. Senate might benefit from knowing about---and then go forth and legislate likewise. Works for me...!

Problem is.... Mexico's leaders want the United States to do as they say, not do as they do. Especially when it comes to keeping their illegal alien flood gushing into the U.S. and their renditions gravy train sending $53B per year south of the border to prop up the Mexican economy. While they bar all illegal-aliens from entering, sponging, protesting---or meddling in politics in Mexico.

Have a look below at what actually is in Mexico's common-sense Immigration Law that U.S. Senators Ted Kennedy and John McCain would hate. Or read the entire piece here.
"Mexico's Immigration Law: Let's Try It Here at Home"

"Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials haven’t been sharing that idea with us as they press for our Congress to adopt the McCain-Kennedy immigration reform bill.

That's too bad, because Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue. Under Mexican law, it is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico....

Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are:

1. in the country legally;

2. have the means to sustain themselves economically;

3. not destined to be burdens on society;

4. of economic and social benefit to society;

5. of good character and have no criminal records; and

6. contributors to the general well-being of the nation.

The law also ensures that:

1. immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;

2. foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;

3. foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;

4. foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;

5. foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;

6. those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.

Who could disagree with such a law? It makes perfect sense...."

Obstructionist U.S. Senate Democrats plan to euthanize formation of purchasing pools that would insure millions of Americans through small businesses.

This is unconscionable! The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passes responsible bill after responsible bill to help small businesses get an affordable means to provide health-care for their employees and their families---only to have the Senate never even bring a similar bill to the Senate floor.

So this vitally important issue that the House has repeatedly addressed has remained dead in the water in the Senate---until now.

But the new Republican bill to allow small business to get affordable health-care insurance by pooling risks to enable them to insure their employees---for whom they cannot now afford to provide high-cost premiums to secure needed coverage---is now at risk of being killed by obstructionist Senate Democrats' use of a procedural maneuver.

As a result, millions of employees of small businesses all around the country will have to continue in their jobs without any health coverage at all---or without any health insurance they can afford to pay the cost-prohibitive co-pays for coverage.

Small businesses are trying to do the right thing by their employees, but they cannot provide health-care insurance at today's rates. Not and stay in business.

Senate Democrats would rather leave them and their employees hanging out there with no insurance than pass a bill in an election year that would redown to Republicans---and to President Bush who supports the House-passed bill.

Guess they don't care about the folks. They're only interested in political gamesmanship and sticking it to Republicans at every bend and turn.

Reminder to all small business owners and their employees nationwide: Be sure to remember how these obstructionist Democrats vote on this bill---when you go to the polls and vote in November 2006 and 2008!

To track how this bill progresses and how your U.S. Senators vote, use PelicanPost links in right sidebar and click on "Congressional Record" under the heading "Government Sources."

You can learn more about this House-passed bill---and how Democrats are trying to kill it---here. A few excerpts below:
"Small-business health bill in jeopardy"

"A Republican bill aimed at helping small businesses get affordable health care in part by freeing them from many state regulations appeared stalled in the Senate on Wednesday, and could be killed in a day or two.

The bill would allow small businesses to form purchasing pools across state lines to bargain for better rates on health insurance. Small business workers and their families account for many of the 46 million uninsured Americans....

Barring a surprise breakthrough, Democrats said they may kill it on a procedural vote as early as Thursday....

The White House has called for the Senate to pass the Enzi bill, although the administration also wants to include measures in the House bill that would allow trade and professional associations to self-insure, as big companies and labor union health plans can.

'Providing access to affordable health care for all Americans and helping small business provide health care for their employees are key components of the president's health care agenda,' a White House statement said earlier this week...."

National unemployment rate for April, 2006, is a spectacular 4.7%....!

Just go to the like the one above and hover over your or any state to see its March, 2006 unemployment rate.

Here in Jacksonville, FL, we are in a economic boom with a ton of construction going on. Our unemployment rate for March, 2006 was 3.1%---considerably lower than the national average. The national average for April, 2006 is 4.7%.

For Employment Situation Summary for April, 2006 with adjusted numbers as of May 5, 2006, go here.

**Be sure to read PelicanPost's posting below about how the mainstream media and Democrats are trying to hide the truth about our very strong economy and great jobs numbers. They're afraid the good news will redown to President George W. Bush---the guy who kept his promise to cut taxes and put more money in the hands of those who earned it.

First, in the 1990s, Slick Willie Clinton taught America's kids that oral sex is not sex....

He sold them on the idea so well that oral sex and oral STDs went up sharply in that demographic over a 10 year period.

Read all about it here, in "Oral and anal sex increasing among teens," which includes the following:

"During the past decade, there has been a significant increase in the proportion of teenagers and young adults engaging in oral sex and, less commonly, having anal intercourse, according to data from STD clinics in Baltimore, Maryland.

....a few national surveys conducted recently have suggested that oral sex may be a behavior that teenagers are increasingly participating in...."

Medical records were examined for 15 to 25 year-olds in 1994 and in 2004. It was found that "over the 10-year period the prevalence of self-reported oral sex in the previous 90 days doubled among males (from 16 percent to 32 percent) and more than doubled among females (from 14 percent to 38 percent)....

There may be a general feeling out there that oral sex is safer than intercourse, Erbelding said, and it probably is for some diseases. However.... oral and anal sex may result in the transmission of STDs that will not be detected in urine tests...."

That same 10 year period has resulted in an overall coursening and debasing of our culture, morals, values, mores and discourse. I call it Bill Clinton's amoral "if it feels good, do it" era, because he set the high profile public example for it---in daily doses reported on national TV for years.

Not your traditional role model. And not your traditional results. The bad news is that many of America's youth became America's debauched and damaged youth---as a result of a U.S. President's degenerate behavior. A President with a shameful, hollow legacy.

Notice to U.S.Senate obstructionists: Protect military operations and troops! Get rid of the pork larding-up the emergency defense spending bill...!

Put politics aside and get your priorities straight for a change...!

Emergency defense spending in time of war is not about you and your pricey pork-barrel projects...!

(Hat tip to Cox and Forkum for political 'toon.)

Obstructionist U.S. Senators on Appropriations Committee hold Defense spending bill hostage to pork-barrel politics as usual, endangering military...

U.S. Senators on the Appropriations Committee are fighting to force retention of earmarked pork barrel projects worth billion$ in the Defense spending bill now proceeding through the Congress. Their extortion demands are $9.6B above the maximum total President GWB has said he will sign into law. Bush says he will veto the bill if it exceeds that maximum.

Accustomed to their wheeling and dealing for pork barrel goodies that go back to states lucky enough to have powerful Senators or hot-button causes, these long-term powerful Senators are prepared to manipulate the timing of the Defense spending bill to not allow time for Bush to veto the bill and still get the funding passed by Memorial Day.

The House of Representatives passed a version of the bill that is only for Defense spending and is for the amount requested by President Bush. The Senators are playing political games that could endanger the lives, equipment levels and success of our troops in Iraq. Which could also undermine the new Iraqi government formation and stability.

Some obstructionist Senate Committees are out of control. They use political gamesmanship to obstruct the government's business---including providing for the military, national defense, and filling all vacant seats in the federal courts.

This cannot be allowed to continue. We are at war in Iraq and in a world-wide War Against Terrorism that President Bush referred to as "World War III." We have huge budget deficits that need to be cut---not propelled higher.

There is one sure cure for these obstructionist Senators. Vote them out of office and send people to Washington that will put financial support for our military, conducting the peoples' business and responsible spending and deficit reduction first!

Read more below and here.
"Holding Troops Hostage to Pork Barrel Spending Is No Way for Congress to Fight the War on Terror"

"Pork barrel spending has corrupted legislation that would provide emergency funding for American troops fighting the war on terror.

The Senate, and most particularly those senators serving on the Appropriations Committee, is holding the safety and well-being of American troops serving abroad hostage in order to slake its thirst for spending on narrow constituencies,” Baker Spring writes.

As Spring notes, hostage-takers assert that they have “reasonable demands” when they do not. A real example of one of these “reasonable demands”: an across-the-board cut of around 13 percent to reduce the total spending of the emergency legislation to a level that would not qualify for a veto. That cut would slash funding to the troops by $9.6 billion. The pork spending, although reduced, would remain, diverting important resources from military operations.

Emergency spending bills should provide for immediate priorities, and pork, regardless of the cost, has no business diverting funding from the these priorities...."

Mainstream media and Democrats hide truth about America's best economy in three decades, with only 4.7% unemployment....

Not surprising that the hard-left does not want anyone to know about outstanding economic and jobs news statistics that veryify the MSM and Democrats in general have not been and are not now telling the truth when they continously give all the good news a negative, distorted slant.

They collectively do this because:

a) All hard-lefters do not want George W. Bush to get any credit for successful results of his tax relief program that fueled an economic boom and historically low unemployment. They hate him. They want to destroy even the illusion of his power and successes.

b.) This is an election year and Democrats don't want to run against a Republican president's booming economy and high jobs-creation statistics and below-natural levels of unemployment. So, they pretend the boom doesn't exist and assume we're too stupid to know the difference.

c.) The anti-Republican liberal mainstream media prefer to shape and control the news to the benefit of the Democrats. They believe their "cause" justifies any and all lies and propaganda to support it.

d.) Democrats always prefer to run against a negative, so they can say they're fighting to make something better for constituents. They always promise they'll "fight for the little man." When they never deliver, they blame it on Republicans. Even when Democrats are in power.

e.) Democrats know they will run badly in an election when people are more in control of their own money and know they are doing better under new tax policies the Democrats want to take away. So they amplify their ostrich syndrome pretenses, denials and distortions. We're too stupid to catch on.... Right?

f.) They are pro-big government, pro-high taxes, pro-socialism, anti-free-market Democrats and that's what they always do---even if the truth sounds better.

Here is a *****Five Star, must read article bearing legitimate, documented statistics-based awesome news about the current economic boom and jobs market:
"Job Numbers Show a Strong Economic Recovery"

"Many Americans are getting conflicting messages about the current state of the economy. They know that their family’s financial situation has improved over the past four years, but when they read the news or turn on the television they find stories about sub-par job growth and stagnant wages.

Many commentators appear to agree that America’s economic engine has stalled.[1] These commentators are wrong. Beyond the headlines, the data reveal that America currently enjoys one of the strongest economies of the past three decades.

Today, unemployment is at 4.7 percent, well below the historical average, and compensation for workers has risen faster than during the previous economic recovery.

Unemployment at Historic Lows:
The current recovery has created jobs for virtually every American who wants one. Only 4.7 percent of Americans are unemployed, well below what economists historically consider the “natural rate” of unemployment....[2]

With unemployment at only 4.7 percent, employers have hired almost everyone looking for a job. This low rate demonstrates the underlying strength of the economy, not its weakness...."

We're all in trouble if The New York Times and The Washington Post are considered examples of America's finest newspapers...!

Sorry, little guy.... Help is not on the way.

Among the newspapers country-wide, a large majority of the top twenty newspapers suffered losses in circulation---the San Francisco Chronicle 15.6%. Recent circulation-loss figures show that The New York Times gained a mere 5% in 2005, following their loss in 2004. The Washington Post suffered another loss this year of 3.7%. Other stats here.

Of course, the little guy above is crying "help" because he's having trouble unloading his bag of tired old Grey Lady liberal rags. Likely because the Times and the WaPo just keep moving farther and farther to the left---to carry water for and aid and abet the Democrat hard-left in their war against the Bush Administration, its policies and the Iraq War.

How many newspapers do you think the Mad Mullahs will allow these white-liberal non-Muslim elites at the Times and WaPo to print and sell if the War Against Terrorism is lost? Their hard-left Democrat allies, who can't fight their way out of a paper bag, won't be able to come to their rescue. And how to you think these elites will cotton to being dhimmis...?

Check out the Big Twenty list at drudgereport.

Hat tip to Larry Wright for political 'toon.

National Review's Editors say the "CIA has run amok," & give chilling examples of renegade anti-Bush leftist subversions & deliberate leaks to MSM....

The Editors of nationalreview have given us a *****Five Star, must read editorial today about the leftist-ideology-driven political operatives within the CIA who have deliberately undermined the President for whom they are supposed to work. The have leaked like a sieve--to the leftist mainstream media---The New York Times and The Washington Post.

I was reminded of a book I once stayed up all night reading---"The 'R' Document." It was a chilling book about a plot by the CIA to take over the government. While the leftists within the current CIA are not trying to literally take over the government, they have tried to subvert the President's control of the agency---and the President's control over foreign policy. And they have given vital top-secret classified information to the enemy and to partisan political opponents of the Administration, by way of the media.

In effect, they have set up an opposition political party offense within the CIA, designed to undermine and defeat President Bush, his administration and the Iraq War. Their subversive political actions have endangered covert operations, covert operatives, and the operations and cooperation of allied governments.

This editorial, "CIA Run Amok," is one you will, for sure, want to read in its entirety.

Here are some highlights of what has been taking place, including a number of breath-taking anti-Bush subversions by operatives within the CIA that demonstrate why they cannot be allowed to continue---and why the impression that the renegade leftists within have pulled off a coup, won their covert policy war, and defeated their being purged from the CIA ranks cannot be allowed to stand:

"The reasons for Porter Goss’s abrupt departure as CIA director are shrouded in mystery. But its effect is not.... The White House must act quickly to correct the impression that the renegades have won.

The CIA is supposed to work for the president. It was created in 1948 to be the president’s civilian, non-partisan, non-policy intelligence arm. Its job is to provide an accurate picture of facts and trends so that decision makers can formulate good policy....

During the Bush presidency, however, the agency has not been content with subtly pushing its own agenda while underperforming its nominal mission. It has run amok. In fact, it worked assiduously—though unsuccessfully—to depose the administration in the 2004 election, and since then has continued brazenly undermining Bush’s foreign policy....

....the CIA has been in blame-shifting mode since 2001. Amazingly, it authorized the head of its most important counterterrorism group, the unit responsible for targeting al Qaeda, to write a book attacking the Iraq war and the Bush administration’s foreign policy. That analyst later acknowledged publicly that “as long as the book was being used to bash the president, [the CIA] gave me carte blanche to talk to the media....”

By then, of course, the agency’s not-so-covert operations against the Iraq war were in full swing.... ....this clique has been silent about damaging leaks by agency operatives who have outed themselves to serve the higher cause of attacking Bush....

....the CIA used its funding clout to underwrite Bush’s opponents. From 2001 through 2004, the agency’s Counterterrorism Center provided more than $15 million for various studies led by former Clinton officials.... and Bush critics.... the Counterterrorism Center had not funded any research by organizations supportive of the administration’s foreign policy.

Most damaging of all, however, has been the CIA’s incorrigible leaking. Again and again, it has demonstrated that it is more dedicated to harming the Bush administration’s war effort than to protecting its own secret activities....

The Editors go on to further describe examples of damaging leaks by the leftist insurgency within the CIA.... to the usual MSM suspects---The Times and The WaPo.

Particularly disturbing is that, "On the eve of a critical congressional vote on Patriot Act renewal, the New York Times sensationally broke a story it had been sitting on for a year: According to intelligence-community sources (which almost certainly included CIA officials), the NSA had, since 9/11, been intercepting international communications between suspected al Qaeda terrorists and persons stationed inside the United States.

Aside from delaying the Patriot Act’s extension for months, the NSA leak has taught the enemy about our methods and submerged a vital program—an effort to create an early-warning system to avoid another 9/11—in a sea of legal controversy....

Porter Goss.... tenure was marked by non-stop turmoil and bickering, as he moved to root out the insurgents and they fought back with a vengeance....

It is crucial that the administration and Hayden make clear from day one that, while Goss is gone, the CIA purge is far from over. Those who are using the agency to undermine the war effort must be rooted out, no matter who is in charge...."

The leftist CIA leakers and the leftist mainstream-media who published the leaked, top-secret classified intelligence information should now be held accountable---morally, ethically and legally.

Those traitors within the CIA damaged our intelligence community and national security just as traitors like Aldrich Ames did. They also damaged our foreign policy. The difference is they gave vital top-secret classified information publicly and directly to the enemy and the entire world, by way of journalists and their published exposes that were, in turn, parroted and expounded endlessly by the broadcast media. What more could the terrorists ask for?

To attribute what they have done to mere partisan politics and policy disputes and allow their subversion to continue in any form or degree, is to give them a pass for their espionage and put the final nail in the coffin of the CIA as a clandestine service---at the same time we are in World War III against extremist terrorism. Hard to get more serious than that.

Famous last words of U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan....

That was what he said right before he had his top aide start shredding incriminating U.N. Oil-for-Food Fraud, Bribery and Kickback Program documents.... and before he began hiding his and his son Kojo's role in the corruption.... and before he hired Bill Clinton's lawyer Greg Craig to protect him....

Corruption at Turtle Bay is still alive and well..., thanks to Kofi Annan's, Greg Craig's, and the Volcker Commission's "investigation" white-wash...!

Wide-eyed Moonbat Rep. Nancy Pelosi & fellow Congressional Democrats plot take-over of House of Representatives & payback for Clinton impeachment....

The buzz in Washington is that Congressional Democrats' pseudo-contract with America will include efforts to impeach President George W. Bush. They want to take back the House of Representatives in 2006 so they are the majority and can accomplish that.

They are promising to conduct a slew of investigations of the Bush Administration, its policy-making, its use of wiretaps of foreign terrorists talking with people inside the U.S., V.P. Cheney's involvement in developing energy policy, the existence of WMD in Iraq, and prosecution of the Iraq War, andonandonandonandon.... ad infinitum and ad nauseum. If only they can get control of the House of Representatives to use as a forum and springboard for their long-desired investigate-the-Bush-Administration-to-death plan.

Democrats have---from day one of the GWB presidency---already been prosecuting an all-out war on policies and top officials of the Bush Administration. A political war complete with Clinton-style politics of personal destruction, designed and executed to smear and destroy administration officials, effective Republicans leaders in Congress, and President Bush's nominees to the federal courts---including the Supreme Court.

Now they want to turn the U.S. House of Representatives into a Joe McCarthy-style inquisition---with Nancy Pelosi and company as inquisitors-in-chief. When their only qualification for doing so is their five years of experience as reactive carpers-in-chief.

The Democrats' "contract with America" strategy has no substance and none of them can come up with or explain any specifics inherent in their copy-cat plan. So, where's the beef? I can't find any in it---because there's none there.

Democrats are citing the results of an AP-Ipsos poll that claimed 51% of respondents think Democrats should be in control of Congress. Their citing---and anyone believing---a hard-left liberal AP poll with no disclosure of wording, order of questions asked, or population polled is as insane as accepting results of other similarly-conducted and released propagandizing hard-left MSM polls as fact, instead of the fiction they are.

Anyone who believes polls put out by the MSM is a fool. And anyone who believes on-line polls that can be responded to multiple times by the same person is a fool. There are too many variables that can be manipulated in polling.

Reputable pollers will provide the wording and order of questions, the population polled, and the percentage margin of error. But, no polls can be truly accurate, because millions of people have cell phones, caller I.D., or call-blocking. And others---especially the poor---have no phones.

I'm sure you've noticed that Democrats in Congress have already started running on a platform touting Republican "culture of corruption." Problem is..., they have corruption problems within their own ranks, in the persons of Democrat Congressmen McDermott and Jefferson, as well as many other Democrats---such as Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid---who had connections to the Jack Abramoff lobbying firm and received campaign contributions from Abramoff's firm and/or Indian tribes whom Abramoff represented. Senator Reid received large campaign contributions from those Indian tribes and then voted in favor of Congressional legislation that benefitted them.

Soooo...., let's get some investigations going NOW to investigate Democrat "corruption." And get the House Ethics Committee to operating again---now that obstructive Democrat Rep. Allan Mollohan, D-WVa Minority co-Chair of the Ethics Committee has had to step down due to allegations of corruption on his part.

More below and here, about the Democrats' big smear-investigate-and-destroy plan they hope will get more Democrats elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. You will find that it seems custom-designed to get out the Republican base and fill Republican coffers! But, hey..., I'm not complaining. We'll take it---thank-you-very-much!
"Confident Democrats Lay Out Agenda: Party Plans Probes Of Administration If It Wins the House"

"Democratic leaders, increasingly confident they will seize control of the House in November, are laying plans for a legislative blitz during their first week in power that would raise the minimum wage, roll back parts of the Republican prescription drug law, implement homeland security measures and reinstate lapsed budget deficit controls.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) said in an interview last week that a Democratic House would launch a series of investigations of the Bush administration, beginning with the White House's first-term energy task force and probably including the use of intelligence in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq.... (S)he said of the planned investigations, "You never know where it leads to...."

Pelosi also vowed "to use the power to investigate" the administration on multiple fronts, starting with the task force convened in secret by Vice President Cheney to devise the administration's energy policy.... "Certainly the conduct of the war" in Iraq would be the subject of hearings, if not a full-fledged House investigation, Pelosi said. Another subject for investigation could be the use of intelligence on Saddam Hussein's alleged weapons of mass destruction to make the case for the 2003 invasion.

Hoyer added that he would like to see investigations into the extent of domestic wiretapping by the National Security Agency, and the billions of dollars wasted by contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan...."
