A conundrum for Lady Liberty.... and for all of us who believe the sovereignty and laws of our country should come first....

No! Give us full and effective enforcement of our laws. We have laws on the books governing immigration, border protection, employment and minimum wage level.

Enforce them. Now.

Washington Post and MSNBC distort news about Rush Limbaugh's plea deal in order to smear him....

Well, the hard-left mainstream media are up to their same old dirty trick of smearing and defaming a prominent Republican---this one the king of talk radio. They have been trying to destroy Rush Limbaugh for years and they can't stand the hard cold fact that they have failed miserably to do so. Again!

But, does that deter them? Noooooo......!

Read more below and here.
__________
"Washington Post, Media Slants Limbaugh Plea"

"Rush Limbaugh's "not guilty" plea deal on doctor shopping charges and his deal with Palm Beach County prosecutors, which will end the case in his favor, was distorted by the Washington Post's report Saturday.

Writing in the Media Research Center's News Busters blog, Tim Graham charged that the Post "showed it liberal colors" when it reported, "Rush Limbaugh Arrested: The talk radio icon surrenders on a charge of committing fraud to obtain prescription drugs."

The "arrested" headline was first used by MSNBC news Friday evening - a theme that was picked up by other outlets like the Post.

"The headline for the story on the front of the Style section was also suggestive: 'Rush Limbaugh Turns Himself In On Fraud Charge In Rx Drug Probe.' "

While noting that the online link was "Limbaugh Charged With Prescription Drug Fraud," Graham said it was "accurate but incomplete," arguing that it could mislead readers into believing that Limbaugh "was admitting guilt, with words like 'surrenders' and 'turns himself in'" despite the fact that it is a part of a deal with no admission of guilt.

Graham added that the story written by the Post's Peter Whoriskey claimed, "The agreement is not an admission of guilt to the charge," without explaining that Limbaugh had pleaded not guilty. Wrote Graham, "A less inflammatory set of headlines would have said 'Prosecutors, Limbaugh Strike Deal....'

Whoriskey, Graham charged, "underlined hypocrisy in his story, saying the drug probe 'has hovered over the law-and-order conservative,' " and later "without noting Limbaugh's critics are on the left in any way...."

As Newsmax has reported Rush Limbaugh Prescription Drug Case Settled Limbaugh's lawyer Roy Black explained that the single charge of doctor shopping filed by the State Attorney is being held in abeyance under the terms of an agreement between the State and Mr. Limbaugh...."

This is how Senator Arlen Specter and his hard-left Senate buddies want to muzzle and hamstring the CIA....

Has Republicrat Senator Arlen Specter been inducted into the transnationalist hard-left elite club that works 24/7/365 to castrate U.S. intelligence agencies...? Somebody needs to take away his elephant suit and drop-kick him back to Pennsylvania.... for good.

Apparently, he is alarmed by the fact that the House of Representatives passed, with a wide margin, a bill to substantially increase funding for intelligence programs---right when he is trying to de-rail the terrorist surveillance program at the NSA.

Have a look-see for yourself in this newsflash from breitbart:

Hat tip to John Sherffius, from whom I snagged part of this political 'toon.

"Sen. Specter Threatens to Block NSA Funds"

"Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter said Thursday he is considering legislation to cut off funding for the Bush administration's secret domestic wiretapping program until he gets satisfactory answers about it from the White House....

Specter said he had informed President Bush about his intention and that he has attracted several potential co-sponsors....

According to a copy of the amendment...., it would enact a "prohibition on use of funds for domestic electronic surveillance for foreign intelligence purposes unless Congress is kept fully and currently informed...."

He (Specter) said he's considering adding an amendment to stop funding of the program to an Iraq war- hurricane relief bill being debated by the Senate this week and next....

Bush has insisted that the program falls within his authority. "The appropriate members of Congress have been and continue to be informed with respect to the Terrorist Surveillance Program," said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. "The Administration remains confident that a majority of members of Congress continue to recognize the importance of protecting Americans through lawful intelligence activities directed at terrorists...."

Specter's announcement came a day after the House passed an bill 327- 96 to dramatically increase spending on intelligence programs. In the process, Republicans blocked an amendment to expand congressional oversight of the NSA's warrantless surveillance program.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Peter Hoekstra, R-Mich., said allegations that NSA domestic wiretapping operations are abusive or unconstitutional are outrageous and that Congress is committed to vigorous oversight of the program...."

More dishonesty from the mainstream media, especially the NYTimes.... to shield fired CIA analyst Mary McCarthy....

Why are we not surprised by this plastering-over-the-truth-to-repaint-it-pretty about the kind of person Mary McCarthy is, while burying all dispositive facts that accurately describe her past "independent" actions? Actions that are highly contradictory and questionable.

Below are excerpts from an outstanding *****Five Star, must read column, "The New McCarthyism: A look at the CIA leaker's independent streak and the al-Shifa intelligence." by Thomas Joscelyn. You will definitely want to read the entire piece at the weeklystandard.

And have a look at Betsy'sPage, where the following is posted: "there is also an interesting point made by Joscelyn, who has more information on his blog on the bombing of that Sudan plant and the connections to Hussein. As John Hinderaker at Powerline points out, Joscelyn notes how the Democrats supported a president declassifying top secret information in order to defend a controversial decision."
__________
"THE MEDIA has been quick to lionize Mary McCarthy, the recently fired 61-year-old CIA analyst who allegedly leaked classified information to the Washington Post's Dana Priest. According to several recent accounts, it is not clear what information McCarthy was accused of leaking. But on Sunday, the New York Times ran a tribute to McCarthy.

In it we learn from a gaggle of former intelligence officials that McCarthy is a woman of "great integrity," and "quite a good, substantive person." Larry Johnson, the former CIA analyst who told us not to worry about the threat of terrorism two years before 9/11, even tells us that she is a "sacrificial lamb."

Adulation from fellow colleagues aside, the lynchpin of the Times piece is that McCarthy has an "independent streak...." To demonstrate this independence, the Times piece leads with the claim that McCarthy bucked the Clinton administration in August 1998 when she objected to the destruction of a Sudanese pharmaceutical plant suspected of doubling as a front for al Qaeda's WMD efforts. The plant, named Al-Shifa, was one of two retaliatory targets chosen by the Clinton administration in the aftermath of the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania.

But in recounting the story of al-Shifa and Mary McCarthy's role in evaluating the intelligence surrounding the facility, the Times leaves out nearly every salient fact--including evidence that the Clinton administration used to tie Saddam's Iraq to al Qaeda....

....the intelligence surrounding al-Shifa was not limited to a single soil sample. Instead, the Clinton administration relied on multiple threads of intelligence, all of which pointed to Iraqi collaboration with al Qaeda in Sudan....

Former Secretary of Defense William Cohen defended the decision in his testimony before the 9-11 Commission.... Richard Clarke defended the intelligence linking Iraqi scientists to al Qaeda in the months following the strike. The 9-11 Commission's report adds that Clarke "for years had read intelligence reports on Iraqi-Sudanese cooperation on chemical weapons...."

Not to mention that the CIA reported to Congress that Iraq was working on chemical and possibly biological weapons programs in Sudan every year from 1998 through 2002....

Did President George Washington get the hard-left's anti-war assault... a la that waged against President George W. Bush...?

Sound familiar....?

Newsflash, folks...! We now have a news and press-savvy White House Press Secretary....

Yeaaaa....!! What a refreshing change to have Tony Snow take charge of the White House Press Office and daily press briefing battleground!

I want to be watching the first time David "Smartmouth" Gregory smarts off at the brainy and quick-on-his-feet Tony.... and gets an on-air verbal yank-up-by-the-shorts. Just a few choice words....Tony style.... quiet, polite, to-the-point, and with a bemused smile. The guy's got classe...!

Personally, I'd rather see some press passes yanked or daily press-ventings abolished.... and acid-tongued MSM hanger-on Helen Thomas run out of the White House on her broom! Before the scary little gargoyle puts down a tap root and becomes a permanent fixture in the briefing room.

War secrets leaked.... Espionage.... To any patriotic American, that's a big huge deal...!!

Fired CIA analyst Mary McCarthy is an example of what Sen. Joe McCarthy tried to root out of this government: communists then, transnationalists now.

Mary McCarthy, now represented by legal counsel, is denying that she said what the CIA has already made known that she said when confronted with her failed lie-detector test, questioned about that failure, and questioned about her having given top-secret classified war information to journalists.

McCarthy answered those questions and confessed to having given information to a number of journalists---including the WaPo's Dana Priest. CIA officials corrected her lies to the press and gave a truthful account to Fox News Channel this morning about what transpired in that post-test questioning.

Below are highlights from a *****Five Star, must read column, "The New McCarthyism: Mary McCarthy, That Is," by Rabbi Aryeh Spero. Rabbi Spero explains to us what motivates and drives the Mary McCarthys of the world---who pledge their allegiance to an elite utopian "transnationalism" that supersedes patriotism, nationalism, and the sovereignty of any one country.

You can read the entire outstanding piece at humaneventsonline.
__________
"Mary McCarthy proves that Sen. Joe McCarthy was right all along. Mary McCarthy, an insider at the C.I.A. who reportedly leaked war secrets to the press, is proving that 50 years after communist infiltration at the State Department, there exists, still, in high places of government leftist ideologues whose allegiance is not to the United States as a sovereign nation with its own interests but to a utopian ideology.

Evidently, she is not alone. Back in the 50s, the utopian ideology was communism (now passé) whereas today’s incarnation is transnationalism. Today’s transnationalism is simply communism but with an appetite for money, social success, and the good life.

Both communism and transnationalism share a belief that nationalism is the primary obstacle to world wide utopian harmony. Both believe that a select few, the “elite,” possess the understanding to decide for people what is always in their best interests. Both view the United States as the greatest obstacle to borderless cultural uniformity... both result in a form of anti-Americanism.

What makes these smug schemers guilty is not their difference of opinion with the administration, nor their willingness to express it. Like the Rosenbergs of the 50s, the Mary McCarthys.... of the world are willing to endanger their countrymen and our soldiers by divulging secret information that directly weakens the U.S and strengthens our enemies. This verifies that their allegiance is not to the people of the United States or its government but to that which in their mind supersedes country. We call that treason....

As internationalists, they are more exorcised by the infringement of terrorist “rights” to make calls to sleeper cells here in the U.S. than our right as Americans to have our families protected from the plans being hatched in these very calls....

Their defenders on the Left claim they are simply “whistleblowers” and spurred by, of course, “human rights”.... Patriotism and loyalty to countrymen and its soldiers is a sentiment as utterly foreign to them....

Besides, every traitor believes in the majesty and superiority of his cause.... but here on earth those that divulge proprietary, entrusted information that puts at risk their country’s ability to win a war in which it is currently engaged are called traitors....

During the McCarthy period of the 50s, it was easier to apprehend the perfidy of the pro-communists because they actively supported a country, Russia.... Even then, the anti-communists like Sen. Joe McCarthy were berated as inquisitors.

The transnationalists of today have the luxury of evading the treason spotlight for, though their efforts and perfidies embolden and enable the enemy and put our country at greater risk, they do not actively support the regimes we are fighting. But the result is the same....

Even the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House are infected by it, so much so, that for some it could be renamed the Transnational House and Senate.... One need only listen to the interviews of countless liberals hailing Mary McCarthy.... as (a) hero... of conscience. Their only criticism seems to be that they may have violated their job agreement, their work rules….

The truth of the matter is that this penchant for worldwide utopianism began back in the 30s here in New York among the pampered “intellectual set”. They espoused communism -- and America was the obstacle to it and thus the enemy. It became dangerous, however, in the 50s when communist sympathizers began holding positions over at the State Dept.... What is today so alarming is that transnationalism, communism’s modern morph, now has moles inside that most inviolable institution, the C.I.A. itself....

....today’s transnationalists are induced by elitism, a classism, a belief in their inherent superiority. They travel among the wealthiest, are themselves often wealthy and are already powerful. They wish to control. They are egotists, part of a global fraternity.

People such as the Clintons, Kerrys, Boxers, George Soros, Ted Turner, Carter, Chirac, Peres, Schroder and members of the Hague travel in a powerful circle that reserves to itself a royal-like mandate to steer the world along universalist highways above the lowly byways of nationalism, especially Americanism. This accounts for the endless apologies to the world from Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Carter and Turner for “the sins of America”. Their poster reads: “Americans uncomfortable with true American sovereignty and power.”

This clique -- and mind set -- is the world’s most effective NGO, with subscribers in every capital and university. It is the Tower of Babel revisited. They are the political world’s “beautiful people”, and countless other people in positions of power and decision who see themselves as political “masters of the universe” are drawn to the glamorous transnationalism life and philosophy which they see as their rightful place and birthright....

Yes, there are in this country people who wish to bring it down.... They love America only when America acts the way they want. That’s not love! They’ll be loyal, so long as they agree with the policy. That’s not fidelity! They’ll respect its laws, as long as they don’t conflict with their fealty to the higher law of transnationalism. That’s not patriotism! They will not keep classified secrets if such secrets reinforce the notion of absolute American sovereignty. They want an America far less sovereign. In my book, that’s treasonous...."

In case you don't know about Joe McCarthy, here is a little info from Wikipedia:

McCarthyism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Joseph Raymond McCarthy
McCarthyism took place during a period of intense suspicion in the United States primarily from 1950 to 1954, when the U.S. government was actively countering American Communist Party subversion, its leadership, and others suspected of being Communists or Communist sympathizers. During this period people from all walks of life became the subject of aggressive "witch-hunts," often based on inconclusive or questionable evidence. It grew out of the Second Red Scare that began in the late 1940s and is named after the U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy, a Republican of Wisconsin.
__________
At another link to information about Sen. Joe McCarthy and the Senate's censure of him, at usinfo.state.gov, he is characterized this way: He and his aides, Roy Cohn and David Schine, made wild accusations, browbeat witnesses, destroyed reputations and threw mud at men like George Marshall, Adlai Stevenson, and others whom McCarthy charged were part of an effete "eastern establishment...."

Sounds exactly like what the Senate Democrat obstructionists have been doing to President Bush---both on the campaign trail and for 5 years in office, all top officials of his administration, and just about every judicial nominee and Justice Department nominee he has sent to the Senate for approval. In other words, a perfect description of the hard-left's politics of personal destruction. Looks as if they took a page from Joe McCarthy's playbook and made a science of it.

Osama bin Laden, sounding a little more than just passing frustrated and whiny....

....gave us a petulant shout out from a cave somewhere out in the tribal nether regions of Pakistan's exaggerated version of our wild west....

Or.... from hunkered-down in a nuclear-haven bunker somewhere in Iran.... with Mad Mahmoud and the Mad Mullahs.... and using his terrorist broadcast network Al Jazeera for the transmission, as usual.

OBL's yanh-yanh communication reminded me of some errant eighth-graders I used to teach---only they didn't wear dresses and have that dark hirsuteness, suicide bombs, and the mania to nuke the U.S., Israel, and Europe, of course. Although, sometimes it seemed like it....

For years, China has been taking the U.S. to the cleaners with their unfair trade practices and unfair pegging of their currency....

Then, after getting Bill Clinton to OK his major campaign donor's turning over sensitive satellite booster technology to them, they manipulated their way into getting technology giants Microsoft, Google, Cisco Systems and Yahoo into doing their internet censorship for them....

And, having used the billion$ gleaned from their unfair trade practices and unfair pegging of their currency to fund an alarming buildup of their military industrial complex and nuclear arsenal, their gobbling up of every available drop of the world's oil supply, and their extending Chinese military, economic and political influence into the Western Hemisphere, the Middle East, and Africa.... they now want to eat us for lunch...!!

Helloooo.....!! What's wrong with this picture?!?

U.S. Supreme Court protects American students from censorship and religious discrimination by school personnel....

Great news from the U.S. Supreme Court! By refusing to hear the Baldwinsville School District's appeal of a ruling by the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals that the school district teacher discriminated against a kindergartner by censoring his project that expressed a religious viewpoint, the highest court in the land made it clear that religious censorship by public schools violates the U.S. Constitution.

The court, by its allowing the lower federal court's decision to stand, affirmed the student's free speech right and right of religious expression free of censorship, discrimination or persecution.

This is not only a victory in the hard fight to protect American citizens' freedoms of religion and speech, it is a victory for students' academic rights to not have teachers and school administrators who have carved out a "special right" of their own to exercise censorship and mind control over students in American schools.

Perhaps success in this case will aide in getting the much-needed Academic Bill of Rights adopted in schools at all education levels and/or passed by all state legislatures and signed into law---everywhere in this country. Personally, I would like to see a national Academic Bill of Rights passed by the Congress and signed into law by the President---and then enforced!

Our captive-audience children have had liberal secular-humanist social and political ideologies and agendas pushed on them---in a form of subtle to blatant indocrination, both in their classrooms and in their textbooks---since the social, sexual and civil rights revolutions of the "if-it-feels-good-do-it" 1960s.

Academia made a nationwide hard-left turn---from serving en loco parentis to being self-appointed surrogates for unwitting or unwilling parents, snatching control from those parents of their childrens' rights, belief systems, expression, bodies, sexuality, and political orientation. They have marginalized and undermined parents and seriously damaged the concepts of family, faith and responsibility.

Educators should be re-educated and put back on task---to provide all students with a basic education, while keeping their own beliefs, ideologies and agendas to themselves. If they can't do that, they do not belong in any classroom in America.

Read more about the new Supreme Court precedent that was set in this case, below and at cnsnews.
__________
"Supreme Court Won't Rule on Kindergartener's Religious Discrimination Case"

"The Supreme Court Monday refused to hear the case of a New York kindergartner who sued his school after the Jesus poster he submitted for a class assignment on saving the environment was allegedly censored. In Baldwinsville School District v. Peck, the high court let stand a ruling by the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals that prohibited public schools from censoring the religious viewpoints of students in class assignments....

'Today's ruling is a victory for religious freedom and students who have been singled out for discrimination by overzealous school officials,' said Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council.... 'In a nation founded on religious freedom, it is appalling that a kindergarten student would be subjected to censorship and humiliation simply for expressing his religious viewpoint..."

Perkins said the court's decision "serves as a warning to school officials who engage in viewpoint discrimination and trample on the civil liberties of students."

The Editors at National Review say "Amnesty is not the most objectionable feature of the president’s plan."

According to the Editors at National Review today, "Amnesty is not the most objectionable feature of the president’s plan. It is the combination of amnesty with laxity in enforcement and a new guest-worker program to which we object. If we are not going to require employers to take the simplest steps to verify the legal status of their employees, then an amnesty will simply act as a magnet for more illegal immigration in the future.... "

In their *****Five Star, must read editorial, they also shoot down the claim from the open borders lobby that the American people are with them---and point out that "the only real change in the politics of this issue isn't any new support for open borders. Rather, it is the fear Republicans have that they will be labled "racist" and "anti-immigrant." However, we know that immigration is not the issue---illegal-immigration is. And it is not about racism. It is about upholding the rule of law.

The Editors also fisk polls that artificially limit lists of options---omitting choices for shrinking illegal populations and for increasing law enforcement. And we all know that there are many variables in polling that can easily be manipulated to produce desired outcomes---with which to propagandize and hoodoo the American sheep-people. You know the kind.... the ones who exhibit no signs of conscious thought or selectivity.... as they blindly follow whatever leader right over the cliff.

The Editors' advice to Republicans: "The wisest course for Republicans would be to say something like the following: “Immigration has made this country better. Immigration can continue to work for America if we make sure that it proceeds in an orderly, manageable, and rational way. We will enforce our laws at the border and the workplace.

Once we have brought illegal immigration under control, we will consider increasing legal immigration levels and granting an amnesty to some illegal immigrants who are already here. Whatever we decide, we will at all times treat illegal immigrants humanely.”

They conclude with their counsel to Republicans who defend these views and are called racist and anti-immigrant: They should respond "that anyone who makes that accusation is calling the American public racist — which isn’t a winning election platform."

Me..., I wholeheartedly agree and hope that all Republican U.S. Senators read and heed this editorial. You guys can read it in its entirety at the above link.

Top 10 U.S. House of Representatives-passed Bills in 109th Congress... The problem is Democrats' & liberal Republicans' obstructions in U.S. Senate!

The 109th Congress includes 2005 and 2006. The House of Representatives has worked hard and passed some vitally important bills to deal with pressing national problems.

As usual, the politically-charged Senate, with all its powerful ultra-hard-left Senators---and Republicrats like John McCain, Chuck Hagel and Arlen Specter---has been and still is obstructing progress in approving or successfully conferencing with the House to get many of these important pieces of legislation passed and sent to the President for his signature.

So, why don't we all let those obstructive Senators know that we want them to put politics aside and fulfill their sworn duty to the American people---by doing their jobs honestly, ethically and fully. Their duty is to serve the best interests of the people, not their own self-interests.

You can use PelicanPost's sidebar links (Contact Congress or U.S. Senators) to contact your state's two U.S. Senators---and those of other states---and let them know your preferences and expectations regarding all 109th Congress House-passed legislation still pending before them or being held up in the Senate.

Then keep track of what they do, how they vote, and who is obstructing progress on bills that would be in the best interest of all Americans. If they fail to do their jobs according to the Constitution and the will of the people, we all know how to support new candidates who will be more likely to get the job done---and how to vote our best interests in November, 2006.

To check the progress and votes on bills proceeding through Congress, go to PelicanPost's sidebar links under Government Sources and click on Congressional Record.

Here's the Top 10 House Accomplishments in 109th Congress , by Robert B Bluey, that I snagged from humaneventsonline:

10. Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (HR 748). Makes it a federal crime to transport a minor across state lines in an attempt to circumvent parental consent laws....

9. Henry J. Hyde United Nations Reform Act (HR 2745). Requires a withholding of 50% of the United States’ regular assessed dues to the UN if the agency doesn’t make specified reforms....

8. Budget Resolution for Fiscal 2006 (H.Con.Res. 95). Passed a budget that includes $35 billion in mandatory savings and $70 billion in tax cuts over five years.

7. Tax Relief Extension Reconciliation Act (HR 4297). Saved taxpayers $56 billion over five years....

6. Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Act (HR 3824). Reformed the Endangered Species Act, offering greater protection for private property owners....

5. Private Property Rights Protection Act (HR 4128). Eminent domain reform following the Kelo v. New London decision....

4. Death Tax Repeal Permanency Act (HR 8). Permanently repeals the estate tax....

3. Point-of-Order Protection. Change in House rules allows members to bring a point of order against any appropriation bill that exceeds its 302(b) spending limits. Agreed to on March 16, 2005.

2. Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act (HR 4437). Provides border and interior measures, including a 700-mile fence, additional Border Patrol agents and workplace enforcement.... (pending before U.S. Senate)

1. Deficit Reduction Act (HR 4241). Reconciliation bill that saved taxpayers a net of $50 billion over five years....

Democrats are up to their same old tricks in coming to defense of Dem Mary McCarthy's illegal leaking of CIA highly-classified intel information....

Same old ideas. Same old results. You'd think they'd get it by now that nobody's buying into their defense of the indefensible.

Makes you wonder whether they're slow learners.... or just fast forgetters. Or if its their collectively-elitist false assumption that if they repeat the same lies often enough, and get their allied mainstream media to ditto what they say, their inferiors will just blindly believe them.

Guess they haven't noticed the increasing numbers of African-American defections from the Democrat Party....

Mark Levin: On the Democrats' and WaPo's predictable reactions to CIA's firing of traitor Mary McCarthy....

*****Five Star, must read critique of the Democrats' predictable reactions and synchronized responses to CIA's firing of "veteran CIA high-level official"---Democrat Mary McCarthy---is provided by Mark Levin at levin.nationalreview. A few excerpts follow, but you will want to read it all. Just click on his name.

Levin begins with an example of how the Dems are blowing off the seriousness of McCarthy's deliberate and traitorous actions. She had one of the highest levels of security clearance at the CIA and had access to extremely sensitive and highly-classified secret information. She made conscious choices to break federal law and leak some of that information on at least several occasions---totally disregarding the enormous damage and endangerment such leaks could cause. Politics comes first, doncha'know....

Levin had this to say about U.S. Representative Jane Harmon's (D-CA) remarks---as she trotted out the Democrat meme about Bush's de-classification of information about the "Valerie Plame" faux-issue and falsely-characterized "leak"to justify her reasoning that "it was all Bush's fault:"

"These cold, calculated comments, which are dismissive of an egregious act of betrayal committed against our country, are a new low even for these 1960s retreads. It also makes you wonder if McCarthy has been a source of information not only to the media, but to members of Congress....

About U.S. Senator John Kerry, D-Mass., Vietnam War anti-hero's remarks, Levin says:

"Not that the truth matters to propagandists, but Plame was not a “CIA agent” and a federal prosecutor has not charged anyone at the White House with leaking her name. Moreover, revealing her name would not have been a crime because, as is now clear, Plame was not undercover. But Kerry continues to repeat this lie because he and his ilk seek to divert attention from the very serious national-security breach committed by his contributor, Mary McCarthy.

Kerry also asserts that McCarthy was telling the truth when she leaked national-security information and that, somehow, she deserves some kind of special dispensation as a result...."

About The Washington Post's publishing a self-protective spin about the firing of CIA traitor Mary McCarthy---since it was their own journalist Dana Priest who was the recipient of the illegally-leaked information and the WaPo printed her column with the illegally-leaked information in their newspaper---Levin allows the following:

"There's something unseemly about a newspaper reporting about a story of which it is a significant part. The Washington Post not only does this here but also spins the news of its source's firing as an unprecedented administrative act. Besides, it reports, questions remain — including within the CIA — about these once secret prisons (if, in fact, they do exist). Ah, yes, the ends justifies the means argument.

Since the Post is willing to do so much talking about its source and the information she divulged, then presumably the paper won't mind its reporter Dana Priest talking to a grand jury...."

Levin concludes with this recommendation: "Free Lewis Libby. Indict Mary McCarthy."

I'm good with that. But I would include the officials at The Washington Post who received the top-secret classified illegally-leaked information, in the form of a column by one of their journalists who illegally obtained the information, and made a conscious choice to print it.

All journalists who received illegally leaked CIA classified information from Mary McCarthy---and all newspaper officials who printed it---should be hauled before a federal grand jury where, in cases of national security breaches, they would be unable to hide behind the Fifth Amendment to protect themselves or their source(s). Indictments would follow, especially since McCarthy already admitted to more than one such leak to the press. Ditto for any Congress or Commission members, if any, who received information from McCarthy---something that now screams out for investigation.

Should be a slam-dunk. No "ham-sandwich indictment" needed, thank-you-very-much!

Hat tip to Steve Sack for political 'toon.

Victor Davis Hanson: On choosing between "bad" and "worse," when faced with prospect of a nuclear Iran.... with a "messianic nihilist at the helm....

Folks, here is another *****Five Star, must read article, "How to Eliminate Iran's Nuclear Weapons," by Victor Davis Hanson---which first appeared in the Claremont Review of Books, Spring 2006 issue.

Hanson narrows down our choices, and those of other Western nations and Israel to:

“Bad and worse” is now the conventional wisdom regarding our choices in dealing with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s efforts to obtain the bomb. We are told that Western air strikes will lead to violent reactions in the Islamic world; increase terrorism; empower the Iraqi Shiite obstructionists; destroy the much ballyhooed but little heard from Iranian opposition; and that even after days of bombing, we will be unable to level all Iran’s nuclear facilities. That’s the “bad” option we face....

“Worse” means they get the bomb — which results in a nuclear Iran threatening Israel, U.S. troops in the Middle East, neighboring Arab oil exporters, and European capitals, even as Western liberals bicker over whether Ahmadinejad seeks merely status, high oil prices, greater power over a restless populace — or paradise as his reward for destroying the Jewish state...."

Hanson goes on to describe Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as "....a leader who listens to voices in a well, dreams about the missing 12th imam, claims his audiences can’t blink while he talks, and may have been one of the terrorists who stormed the U.S. embassy in 1979 — adding messianic nihilism to the tinderbox of petrodollars, nukes, and terrorism...."

And he characterizes the role of the United States, in response to the ravings and threats of Ahmadinejad, as follows: "In response, Zen-like, the United States keeps silent in the background...."

Hanson also tells us something most Americans don't know about the man whom I consider to have been the most dangerous and damaging former U.S. President to the national security of the United States of America---Bill Clinton---who "last year apologized to the Iranian mullocracy for American support for the Shah 30 years ago and CIA espionage a half century past, but not to the American people for allowing Pakistan, Iran, and North Korea to begin in earnest their nuclear acquisition programs on his watch...." And, he goes on to predict that "....indeed, the closer Iran gets to the bomb, the more the Left will say that we can live with it...."

Hanson concludes that: "All that has changed in the past six months is the growing Western realization that radical Islam thrives on appeasement, and really does mean what it says.... Far from withdrawing his pledge to wipe Israel out, President Ahmadinejad doubled-down on the boast.... (and) outlined in advance not merely the intent but the method of his intended follow-up to the Holocaust.

We are coming to a showdown where the headshaking over “bad or worse” is no longer an excuse for inaction, but a tragic acceptance that there is still a bad choice, after all...."

Personally, I believe that a "bad choice" is the best we're going to get in facing down the threat of nuclear terrorism---with a lunatic "messianic nihilist's" finger on the nuclear button. Far better to deal with "bad" now, than deal with saving this country---or Israel---after "worse" is manifest in the shape of a nuclear mushroom cloud.

This little piggy (U.S. Rep. Allan Mollohan, D-WVa) went to market---the "earmark" market---in the U.S. Congress

And he went Whee! Whee! Whee! all the way home.... to West Virginia.... to turn a $30K real estate investment into "at least $6.3M...!"

Now that's appreciation Rep. Mollohan can really appreciate...!

Well, ya'll.... I guess Mollohan has now thrown Congressman Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, off the earmarked-congressional-pork throne---and grabbed the Democrats' King Pork title for himself.

He's also thrown some hog-sloppin' "culture of corruption" mud on his fellow don't-look-at-us-look-at-Republicans Dems....

Hat tip to Jeff Koterba for political 'toon.

National Legal & Policy Center says U.S. Congressman Allan Mollohan, D-WVa, needs to resign from House Approriations Committee, not just Ethics Cmte.

Rep. Allan Mollohan's extreme use and abuse of Congressional "earmarks"---that can be inserted into a Congressional finance bill, anonymously and secretly, to divert multi-millions of U.S. taxpayer funds to pork-barrel projects in various states---is a perfect example of why the practice of earmarking should be abolished immediately. And permanently.

An earmark is an unconstitutional and illegal gimmick for diverting taxpayers' federal tax dollars to political-plum state and local projects or to organizations, foundations, non-profits, researchers, and so on in a Congress-member's home state. No one knows how many of those diverted taxpayers' dollars end up in the pockets of the U.S. Congress-member who earmarked the funds for diversion.

Democrat Rep. Mollohan has used earmarks to divert $250M to his state---mostly to non-profits run by his friends and/or partners. And he has failed to correctly report his income and its source(s)---making 250 errors and misrepresenations in his federally-required reports, according to research completed by NLPC.

Congressional Democrats were already dishonestly smearing the Republicans in Congress and the White House as a "culture of corruption," at the same time they have been obstructing and refusing to allow the House Ethics Committee to function at all--- because they are trying to protect another Democrat Congressman, Jim McDermott, who is under indictment. Yet, they are silent as church-mice about Rep. Allan Mollohan's fantasy real estate appreciation windfall in the multi-millions and miss-reporting of same---and about the earmarked funds Mollohan diverted in an apparent scheme to enrich himself, his wife and friends running non-profits (527s).

A complete investigation and audit should be done to find out exactly where all of the funds earmarked by Mollohan went. The same should be done for all other earmarked taxpayers' money that has been diverted without the knowledge and approval of the taxpayers.

Now we know another reason why Democrats always want to raise federal taxes---in addition to their manic quest to raise taxes in order to turn the U.S. into a socialist welfare state. Every increase in taxes gives them more money they can self-servingly earmark and divert---behind the backs of the American people.

"NLPC Reacts to Rep. Mollohan Resignation from Ethics Committee"

Ken Boehm, chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), on Friday reacted to the resignation of Rep. Allan Mollohan (D-W.V.) as the ranking member of his party on the House Ethics Committee:

"If Mollohan should resign from any committee, it should be the Appropriations Committee.
"Mollohan's resignation from the ethics committee is far less important than him telling the truth about his finances and amending his financial disclosure reports.

"Mollohan getting off the ethics committee does not relieve him of the responsibility of answering all the questions about his finances, including the dramatic increase in the value of the 27 condo units in a Washington, D.C., building called the Remington....

"Mollohan claims that the increase in his holdings ....is substantially due to the surge in real estate values in recent years, particularly in the District of Columbia.

Here's the math: Mollohan's interest in The Remington was valued by him to be worth between $2,002 and $30,000 in the year 2000. His Financial Disclosure Report for 2004 valued the same asset at being worth $2,000,002 to $10,000,000....

The percentage increase between those.... figures is an astounding 6,566 percent. The kind of increase in value Rep. Mollohan is claiming for his Remington asset does not even remotely resemble the D.C. real estate market in recent years.'

The NLPC filed a Complaint confidentially with the U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia on February 28 detailing over 250 omissions and misrepresentations on Mollohan's Financial Disclosure Forms.... The New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today and newspapers in West Virginia editorialized that Mollohan should step down from the ethics committee."

Big question: Why just the Ethics Committee? Why not also the House Appropriations Committee? For Mollohan to simply step down from a non-functioning House Ethics Committee, while remaining on the powerful House Appropriations Committee is just throwing his critics a bone.

Mollohan has already miss-appropriated too much of American taxpayers'money by secretly earmarking it---and miss-reported enormous amounts of his earnings---in the same time period he mysteriously became a multi-millionaire. He needs no chance to miss-appropriate another dime.

My request: Congressman Mollohan, do the right thing and resign from the House of Representatives. Now.

Gaps in time-stamped photos and conflicting cabbie-trip timelines....

Could it be that someone has done a little PhotoShopping...? And someone else has been lying about timelines for cab rides...?

And could it be that the media are excessively and loudly in agreement with the Duke lacrosse player who said, "Well, she's just a stripper....?!?

This has developed into a nauseating display of tar the victim.... in the national media.... before the whole world.

I just heard Sean Hannity say again the accuser was "passed out drunk." No one has provided proof that she was "drunk." That opinion was based upon a remark by one cop who had performed no tests to see if she was, in fact, "drunk." Hospital personnel did not say she was "drunk." She could very well have been given a date-rape drug to make her appear "passed out drunk."

So, why not just stop the smearing and wait until actual proof is provided.... whatever the outcome!

Foreign Friend of the Court (Amicus) briefs filed with the Supreme Court in Hamden are hostile to the U.S. Constitution and rule of law.

Readers, this is an excellent *****Five Star, must read column, here, by Daveed Gartenstein-Ross, about the dangers of foreign influence and legal decisions impacting decisions made by the U.S. Supreme Court.

A trend has been established by Justices Ginsberg, O'Connor, Breyer and Kennedy---to disregard the U.S. Constitution and U.S. rule of law as the basis for their legal rulings---in favor of foreign law and evolving moral and social standards of the times in which we live.

This trend has encouraged European secular-humanist, multi-culturalist politicians and socialists---to a degree that they are now filing Amicus (Friend of the Court) briefs with the U.S. Supreme Court to influence cases involving U.S. foreign policy and conduct of war.

The U.S. Constitution requires that Justices of the Supreme Court base their decisions on the laws and Constitution of this country only. The Justices who have based their decisions on foreign opinion and law have violated their Oaths of Office and betrayed the American people.

In "Rasul, an amicus brief was submitted by 175 "members of both Houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland." The Supreme Court ruled against the Bush Administration in that case---setting a dangerous precedent that needs to be struck down in Hamdan.

The U.S. Congress needs to investigate these violations of the Constitution and perform their check and balance oversight over the conduct and job performance of Supreme Court Justices. Justices can be---and should be---impeached if they disregard the rule of law and refuse to follow the Constitution as it is written.

No one appointed and approved Supreme Court Justices to place themselves above the law that they are Constitutionally required to interpret. Nothing gives them the right or power make new law from the bench---to suit themselves, their own political and social preferences, or their increasingly globalist views.

__________
"Not So Friendly Amici: Look who's filing Supreme Court briefs now."

"CONSERVATIVE LEGAL SCHOLARS HAVE LONG warned that judges' reliance on foreign opinions might undermine the mechanism for setting domestic policy under the Constitution. Now, for the second time, a friend of the court brief has been submitted to the Supreme Court by foreign politicians in a case relating to detainees at Guantánamo, suggesting that constitutional control over foreign policy could be similarly jeopardized....

It should perhaps be unsurprising that foreign legislators are now submitting amicus briefs designed to pressure the judiciary. After all, it appears that the federal government's most vocal proponents of respect for the international community's views can be found not in the State Department, but on the Supreme Court. In a 2005 speech to the American Society of International Law, Justice Ginsburg quoted the Declaration of Independence (complete with gender-sensitive modifications) to assure the audience that "we will continue to accord 'a decent Respect to the Opinions of [Human]kind' as a matter of comity and in a spirit of humility." Justices Breyer and Kennedy and retired Justice O'Connor have made similar remarks....

There are sound reasons that foreign governments have heretofore generally refrained from weighing in on the judiciary's interpretation of U.S. foreign policy obligations. Federal courts have long recognized that the president should function as the sole representative of the country's foreign policy.... (Thomas) Jefferson explained that the Constitution left foreign policy in the hands of the executive.

As more parties purport to shape our foreign relations, effective diplomacy becomes more difficult. And a look at the amicus brief's signatories reveals that some of the foreign parties attempting to guide the judiciary are hostile to the United States and the global war on terror...."

China is the new U.S.S.R. - It has already begun a new Cold War, aligning itself with socialist countries against the United States

The not-so-long-ago awakened sleeping dragon that is China has set itself on a path to strengthen the United States' socialist/fascist enemies around the world---from North Korea to Zimbabwe to Sudan to Iran to Russia to Cuba to Venezuela to Panama and others in S. America.

They have made major inroads into the Western Hemisphere. They have made and are making susbstantial investment---both economic and military---in those socialist/fascist countries. At the same time, they have been developing substantial spy networks---even in Australia and the United States.

China is also using its veto power in the United Nations to hamstring and neuter the U.N. Security Council as it protects its new economic/military/socialist best friends, including the genocidal Sudanese regime that has been and continues to engage in ethnic cleansing in Darfhur---all to the detriment of the United States, the European Union and other Western nations.

The best way to guage whether or not China is a true friend of the U.S. is to meticulously and publicly measure China's progress in opening up its restricted and closed markets to American businesses and every positive change it makes to its unfair pegging of its currency that now gives itself an unfair trade advantage in the multi-billions.

Another must-track Chinese activity is its copyrights and patents piracy (ie. stealing) to rip off the protected ideas, inventions and fruit of Western talent and genius---something they prefer to steal, rather than developing original work product of their own.

And be sure to closely watch every move China makes and every veto they cast to undermine the United States and the West at the United Nations---particularly in the Security Council and the new, un-reformed Human Rights Council.

Anyone who is foolish enough to believe China is a friend of the United States, has simply been too lazy to track its huge military industrial complex buildup and its economic developing and arming of far flung Sino-socialist/fascist nations that all have one thing in common---they hate and want to destroy the democratic republic that is the United States of America, as well as all other democratic nations.

This is no small matter. China is not, by any stretch of the imagination, our friend.

"The Ties that Bind Beijing: Hu will talk of partnership, but Chinese actions speak to peril."

"The "message" Chinese President Hu Jintao most wants the American people to come away with as he visits the U.S. this week and meets with President Bush today is: Although China is a rising global power, there is no need to fear its ascendance because Beijing is committed to being a responsible international player.

At first blush that may appear to be true.... But there is another, dark side to Chinese foreign policy that is grossly underreported. That is China's cozy relationships with a string of rogue states that aids and abets such vexing problems as political repression, human-rights abuse, poor governance, WMD programs, and, even, conflict.

Beijing's close ties with some of the world's most repressive regimes in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia call into question the credibility of China's assertion that its rise to global prominence will be a wholly positive evolution in international politics....

In this hemisphere, China and Cuba have signed numerous economic agreements that will help keep the Castro's "island prison" afloat. In a 2004 visit to Cuba, Hu proclaimed, "We sincerely wish that the Cuban people march without surrender on the road to building socialism."

Across the Caribbean in Venezuela, China is enhancing strongman Hugo Chavez's grip on power by investing over $1 billion in the energy sector. Beijing is also positioning itself to invest another $500 million in oil/gas fields, not to mention broadening bilateral military ties.

While China is involved here and abroad in a sophisticated public-relations campaign to create the appearance of being a mature, responsible actor in the global system, sheltering some of the world's worst regimes from international pressure undermines that notion completely...."

What Iranian leader was the first to threaten the West with an atomic bomb?

Iranian leaders have long been working toward becoming a nuclear power---toward the end of annihilating Israel and becoming the overwhelming big-bully super-power in the Middle East neighborhood.

As indicated by the political satire piece above, the West---Europe, in particular---have eschewed "pre-emption," in favor of soft "diplomacy." Soft diplomacy is a euphemism for pussy-footing appeasement and cajoling.

Hat tip to Cox and forkum for this political 'toon. They add that the words under "Pretty Please?" are Farsi for "I Plead You to God." They also have a must read posting that includes the following:

"[Iranian president] Ahmadinejad isn't interested so much in joining a nuclear club as he is in wielding a nuclear club. He has openly boasted that Iran wants to "wipe Israel off the map." Is Ahmadinejad just a wild-eyed "radical," out of touch with the rest of the Iranian regime?

A few years ago, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani—a man considered "moderate" by the standards of the Iranian regime—boasted that "a single atomic bomb has the power to completely destroy Israel." In case you don't think they're serious, Iran's religious establishment recently released a fatwa sanctioning the use of nuclear weapons....

There is no need to invoke the doctrine of pre-emption against Iran. Iran is already fighting a war against the United States. We just haven't been fighting back. We have held our fire as if Iran were protected by a shield of nuclear weapons. How much more aggressive will the Iranians become when they are actually protected by such a nuclear shield? ....

Iran's global ambitions are as grandiose as anything put forward by Osama bin Laden -- but they are backed by control of a country of 70 million people with an army, navy, and air force, a vast network of terrorist organizations across the Middle East, and, very soon, nuclear weapons...."

New documents shed light on Saddam Hussein - Osama bin Laden connection and cooperation

"Saddam and Osama: The New Revelations" is a *****Five Star, must read by Jamie Glazov---here. It is an amazing account of what is in only a tiny portion of the millions of mostly still un-translated documents from the pre-war Saddam Hussein regime---documents that President G.W. Bush recently ordered declassified and released.

"Much of his (Glazov's) research has focused on the role that nations such as Saddam's Iraq and the mullah's Iran have played in providing support, training and funding for terrorist entities such as al Qaeda, al Qaeda's affiliates, Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist groups..."

Information includes Glazov's interview with Thomas Jocelyn:

JG: "Do we have any idea what is in the Iraqi Intelligence documents regarding Saddam's ties to al Qaeda and global terrorism?

Joscelyn: Yes, we do. The Iraqi intelligence documents that have been authenticated by the U.S. intelligence community offer a startling view of Saddam’s ties to global terrorism, including al Qaeda.

One IIS document, in particular, has received significant attention. The document was apparently authored in early 1997 and summarizes a number of contacts between Iraqi Intelligence and Saudi oppositionist groups, including al Qaeda, during the mid 1990’s. The document says that in early 1995 bin Laden requested Iraqi assistance in two ways.

First, bin Laden wanted Iraqi television to carry al Qaeda’s anti-Saudi propaganda. Saddam agreed. Second, bin Laden requested Iraqi assistance in performing “joint operations against the foreign forces in the land of Hijaz.” That is, bin Laden wanted Iraq’s assistance in attacking U.S. forces in Saudi Arabia....

....another document provides interesting insight into the workings of Saddam’s ultra-loyal Fedayeen martyrs. Uday Hussein, leader of the Fedayeen, authorized a wave of terror attacks in London, Iran, and “self-ruled” areas of Iraq (meaning Kurdish-controlled territory) in May 1999....

The document recounts explicit instructions for recruiting Fedayeen capable of carrying out these attacks. Martyrs are even reminded to use "death capsules" if "captured at the European fields..."

....the Fedayeen Saddam were trained alongside terrorists from throughout the Middle East. There are a number of unreleased documents that demonstrate that Saddam was training terrorists by the thousand...."

May 1st is declared "Conservative Shopping Day," in support of businesses that do not break the law, hire illegals, & give American workers the shaft.

Great posting today by Mac Johnson at The Right Angle blog---with his answer to the illegal-alien criminals' May 1st skip-work and boycott of American businesses day---better known as intimidation of Americans and the American government day.

Johnson has called for a May 1st "Conservative Shopping Day," in response to these illegal-aliens with gargantuan gall who continue to protest in our streets and cities and demand that the United States of America grant them "special rights." They want rewards of citizenship and government benefits and services---for their arrogance and for breaking our border, immigration and labor laws!

PelicanPost endorses May 1st "Conservative Shopping Day" and I will do my part to support businesses that are open and do not hire illegals---year 'round. Let me add one suggestion, however:

When you go shopping at patriotic businesses on May 1st, be sure to wear your patriotic clothing, caps, jewelry, and so on---put patriotic stickers and flags on your cars---and take the time to thank those businesses who put patriotism and concern for the security and sovereignty of our country before breaking the law and exploiting illegal workers to bolster their bottom line.

I also ask all of you guys out there to spread the word---call everybody you know---put a sign in your car window about May 1st Conservative Shopping Day"---try to get an announcement of it in your local paper or on local talk radio shows---or find other peaceful and appropriate ways to let everyone know.

Thanks for a great idea Mac!

"May 1 Is Conservative Shopping Day!"

"As you no doubt know, illegal aliens and their handlers plan to hold their next Senate intimidation rallies on May 1, better known as the Marxist holiday of “May Day.” The May Day campaign will consist of yet more anti-law-enforcement marches and a nationwide “boycott” of shopping.

The aim of the boycott is to demonstrate the purchasing power of the 11 million immigration criminals demanding amnesty. The boycott will also include a general strike by immigration criminals, who are being encouraged to skip work that day. Now it appears that illegal aliens are here to just skip the jobs that no American is willing to skip....

If the boycott and strike are successful, this means that May 1 will be A DAY WITHOUT ILLEGAL ALIENS!.... It will be morning again in America. Every actual American should make a point to get out and support those businesses and counteract the criminal boycott movement....

I hereby declare May 1 to be a national holiday -- Conservative Shopping Day. Show the doubters that a day without illegal aliens is not a crisis, it’s just a good start. And spread the word. Forward this notice or send out your own. Let it be shouted, in clear unaccented English, from every mountaintop and blog: SPEND, GRINGOS, SPEND!

....be sure to make note of which businesses can still function on a day without illegal aliens, so that you can patronize them everyday for a long time. Let’s turn the day without illegal aliens into an everyday thing....!"

Christ the Lord is Risen.... Praise be to God!

Saturday, April 15, 2006

Some U.S. Congress-members, especially Democrat & liberal Republican Senators, are running from enforcing U.S. laws against illegal-alien lawbreakers.

Where do the U.S. Congress-members from your state stand on the issues of illegal-alien lawbreakers' demands for "special rights," amnesty for those lawbreakers, and failure to protect U.S. borders and citizens?

Are you letting them get away with ignoring and not enforcing U.S. border, immigration and labor laws--and thumbing their noses at the vast majority of Americans who have made it known that we want our borders completely protected and all of our laws fully enforced?

Throngs of illegal-aliens have come out from under the radar---to boldly, and sometimes arrogantly, demand to be given "special rights" and privileges of amnesty and citizenship in our country as a reward for their already having broken our border, immigration and labor laws.

They have organized a country-wide political movement to try to influence and intimidate our lawmakers into giving them amnesty and legal status---by turnout of large numbers of protesters, name-calling against American citizens who oppose them, flying of Mexican flags, and carrying offensive-message signs---without having any rights to do so.

That's not the way it works. We have something called the rule of law in this country, provided for in U.S. Constitution and existing U.S. laws---including border, immigration and labor laws. There are no provisions in any of them for allowing illegal entry into this country or suspension of consequences for those who do so.

So where do Congress-members get off pushing an eighth amnesty for masses of illegal aliens, when the 1986 amnesty was supposedly set up to guarantee it would be the last and that U.S. borders would thereafter be strictly enforced? What is it about the word "last" that they don't understand? And, what's their excuse for not doing their checks-and-balances job of oversight to make sure the Executive Branch enforces the laws?

Exactly what is it about the rule of law and enforcing all U.S. laws that Congress-members don't understand? If they haven't grasped those concepts by now, they don't belong in Washington, D.C. conducting the people's business. If they simply can't get it, they need to resign, pack up and go home to stay.

The vast majority of the American people have made it clear that they do not want emigres who enter our country by cheating the immigration system and breaking our laws. They want emigres who follow all U.S. laws and requirements for entering and working in our country, assimilate into our culture, learn our language, and earn citizenship through completion of the naturalization process---all because they want to be Americans and declare allegiance to their new country.

There's nothing hard to understand about this. It's as easy as A-B-C, 1 - 2 - 3!

Without doubt, it is imperative that Congress-members listen to the American people on these issues---or refuse to do so at their peril.

Guess who's proclaiming Iran to now be a member of the nuclear "club?"

Iran's recent weapons testing, military exercises, uranium enrichment, and nuke-rattling threats to annihilate Israel have jarred the comfort level of diplomatic-verbal-fencing-first government leaders of anti-nukes-for-Iran nations already in the "nuclear club," into which Iran now claims to have forced itself.

We can tell by the nuclear members' shocked-into-puckered-orifices stares that the nuclear-bomb-or-bust Mad Mullahs' and Iran's insane munchkin President Ahmadinejad's attempt to invade the clubhouse has grabbed their attention.

Soooo....., now that they're paying attention..., what are they going to do about it?

Inquiring free-world minds want to know...!

The 180 degree hypocrisy of retired General Anthony Zinni....

Surely Anthony Zinni won't now be telling us he did not recall his prior statements that conflict with his current politically-motivated statements, when he engaged in a campaign to enlist other generals in a coordinated effort to demand the resignation of and bring down the Secretary of Defense---something the anti-war hard-left and mainstream media have tried and failed to do for years.

Zinni failed to disclose his former strong statements of six years ago---that are polar opposites from his current frequently-televised statements---that President Bush "cherry-picked pre-war Iraq weapons intelligence and misled the country into going to war." He also failed to disclose them this week, as he repeatedly called for Don Rumsfeld to resign and hawked his new book at the same time.

Now Zinni has been outed for e-mailing other former generals to enlist them in the political anti-Bush Administration and get-Rumsfeld smear campaign. He has succeeded with a half-dozen or so generals, following in the footsteps of---or on instructions from---presidential hopeful and loser in the 2004 Democrat nomination, former General Wesley Clark, who has politicized the Iraq War and demonized President Bush for three years and did so again today.

These Democrat generals have perpetrated a deceitful and underhanded undermining of President George W. Bush, Secretary Rumsfeld, American troops, the fledgling democracies of Afghanistan and Iraq, and the War Against Terrorism---all in time of war.

It's cowardly, it's un-American, it's un-patriotic, and it's unacceptable!

Read about it below and here. Related article here, with names of other generals involved in Zinni's campaign and which general really surprised the Pentagon, because he also contradicted his own earlier remarks---a la Zinni.

"Anthony Zinni Flashback: Saddam the Biggest Threat"

"Retired Gen. Anthony Zinni, who now complains that President Bush cherry-picked pre-war Iraq weapons intelligence and misled the country into going to war, warned six years ago that Saddam Hussein's WMD program was the biggest threat to U.S. interests in the Middle East.
"Iraq remains the most significant near-term threat to U.S. interests in the Arabian Gulf region," Zinni told Congress on March 15, 2000.

"Despite claims that WMD efforts have ceased," the general-turned-war critic said, "Iraq probably is continuing clandestine nuclear research, retains stocks of chemical and biological munitions, and is concealing extended-range SCUD missiles, possibly equipped with CBW [chem-bio-weapons] payloads," Zinni said, in quotes unearthed Friday by the AmericanThinker blog...."

Victor Davis Hanson: On retired generals unethically appearing on TV to hype their books while criticizing GWB, Rumsfeld & prosecution of Iraq War...

As luck would have it, this is another *****Five Star, must read column from Victor Davis Hanson, here.

In it, Hanson characterizes the sudden rash of retired generals going on TV to slam the Bush Administration, demand that Sec. of Defense Don Rumsfeld resign, and carp about the prosecution of the Iraq War---while offering no plausible or viable alternatives---as "dead-end debates" in which all alternatives are bad.

He also allows that "for every argument offered by "experts," there was just as available a convincing counter-argument — something usually lost on those eager to keep up with the 24-hour news cycle...."

Hanson adds, "let us not fool ourselves any longer that each subsequent "exposé" and leak by some retired general, CIA agent, or State Department official — inevitably right around publication date — offers anything newer, smarter, or much more ethical in this dark era that began on September 11. No need to mention the media's "brave" role in all this, from the flushed-Koran story to the supposedly "deliberate" American military targeting of journalists...."

He concludes with: "What we need, then, are not more self-appointed ethicists, but far more humility and recognition that in this war nothing is easy. Choices have been made, and remain to be made, between the not very good and the very, very bad. Most importantly, so far, none of our mistakes has been unprecedented, fatal to our cause, or impossible to correct.

So let us have far less self-serving second-guessing, and far more national confidence that we are winning — and that radical Islamists and their fascist supporters in the Middle East are soon going to lament the day that they ever began this war."

I heard on FNC last night that retired General Anthony Zinni, who is calling for Don Rumsfeld to resign and criticizing the Iraq War, was a Bill Clinton-elevated general who now appears to have e-mailed many of the other retired-generals suddenly, in-tandem, calling for Rumsfeld's resignation. This, of course, is simply another escalation of the anti-war hard-left's assault on the Bush Administration and its war policy and prosecution.

Yesterday, President Bush gave these political ankle-biters a high-profile televised spanking to the effect that he is delighted with Rumsfeld's performance and accomplishments and Rumsfeld will stay exactly where he is.

This is only a small part of Hanson's excellent piece. Everyone will be well-served to read all of "Dead-end Debates: Critics need to move on" at the above link.

Don Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense, who has succeeded in administering two successful wars.... and freeing 50M people....

Bravo, Secretary Rumsfeld! You got your credits and thanks from the President today the hard way.... you earned them!

As for the hard-left anti-war, anti-Bush Administration ankle-biters---including like-minded, frustrated retired generals---let's keep this quote, addressed to Eleanor Roosevelt in mind:

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent, Eleanor Roosevelt; Non carbarundum bastardis." - unknown. Of course, we know that the Latin words here mean "don't let the bastards grind you down."

President George W. Bush stands up solidly for and praises his Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfield...!

Thank you President Bush! Finally! This should have been done a long time ago.... but, better late than never.

The beleaguered Rumsfeld has had to bear the brunt of the dishonest hard-left anti-war crowd's vitriol and hatred for too long. They have been like a multitude of asps biting at his ankles and trying to pressure him into resigning.

They hate it that our troops love, respect and support Rumsfeld. They hate that he is successfully carrying out the enormous task of updating and restructuring the U.S. military and preparing them for modern warfare and fighting terrorism to win. They are afraid that successful reform and restructuring of the entire military and winning two wars in the Middle East will redown to George W. Bush's credit and legacy.

At last GWB has credited "Rummy" for all his excellence and achievements and, in effect, told the vituperous hard-left to go hiss in their own pits!

The following is from a DoD Press Release at defenselink.mil, including Bush's comments:

"President Bush reaffirmed his support today for Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, saying the secretary's "energetic and steady leadership is exactly what is needed at this critical period.

The president issued a White House statement putting on record that the secretary has his full support and deepest appreciation. Bush praised Rumsfeld for his leadership in overseeing difficult missions within the Defense Department during a "historic and challenging time for our nation.

Bush said: "Upon assuming office, I asked Don to transform the largest department in our government. That kind of change is hard, but our nation must have a military that is fully prepared to confront the dangerous threats of the 21st century.

At the same time, as the United States wages the global war on terror, Don and our military commanders have also been tasked to take the fight to the enemy abroad on multiple fronts. I have seen first-hand how Don relies upon our military commanders in the field and at the Pentagon to make decisions about how best to complete these missions. It's exactly the kind of leadership the country needs at this critical time."

Bush's endorsement came as several retired generals have taken criticism of Rumsfeld to the media and called for his resignation.

Asked about this during a Pentagon news conference April 11, Rumsfeld said he expects people to have different opinions: "When you're involved in something that's controversial, as certainly this war is, one ought to expect that. It's historic, it's always been the case, and I see nothing really very new or surprising about it."

Marine Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stood with Rumsfeld at the podium that day and told reporters, "As far as Pete Pace is concerned, this country is exceptionally well-served by the man standing on my left. Nobody works harder than he does to take care of the (privates first class) and lance corporals and lieutenants and the captains.

He does his homework. He works weekends, he works nights. People can question my judgment or his judgment, but they should never question the dedication, the patriotism and the work ethic of Secretary Rumsfeld."

Iran's unhinged President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says: "Like it or not, the Zionist regime (Israel) is heading toward annihilation...."

If Ahmadinejad gets his finger on a nuclear button, how long do you think he will take to use it on the democratic nation of Israel? Or any other nation he hates? The United States comes to mind....

At the end of last week, as reported at breitbart, Mad Mahmoud again ranted about his promised up-coming "liberation" of the Middle East from Israel, whom he labeled a "permanent threat."

As Mad Mahmoud postures, threatens, and claims Iran is now a member of the "club" of nuclear nations, all the rest of us can see what a deranged and bullying little tyrant he is.

Sort of like an itty-bitty bantam rooster trying to out-rooster the Zodiac "Rooster" whose motto is: "I Know Better”--- and who operates in a comfortable barnyard setting where all the animals know who is boss.

The following is just a little about Mad Mahoud's rant. Read the rest at the above link.

"The president of Iran again lashed out at Israel on Friday and said it was "heading toward annihilation," just days after Tehran raised fears about its nuclear activities by saying it successfully enriched uranium for the first time.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called Israel a "permanent threat" to the Middle East that will "soon" be liberated. He also appeared to again question whether the Holocaust really happened.

"Like it or not, the Zionist regime is heading toward annihilation," Ahmadinejad said at the opening of a conference in support of the Palestinians. "The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm...."

Would somebody please tell that puffed-up little bantam in Tehran that we're not deaf.... we heard his nuke-rattling at Israel and the West the first time.... And his crowing is beginning to sound like a tired-old scratchy phonograph record...!

Hey...! These are the guys President Bill Clinton personally approved giving nuclear blueprints to....

Now we see the results of Bill Clinton's irresponsible and dangerous gift---a nuclear Iran that has leap-frogged ahead---over remaining engineering hurdles that were blocking Iran's path to a nuclear weapon---thanks to Clinton's gift in early 2000, his last year in office.

Why did President Bill Clinton personally approve giving Iran blueprints for part of a nuclear bomb?

The most corrupt President in U.S. history, Bill Clinton, didn't just allow the turnover to China---by Oracle, a company headed by one of his major campaign contributors---of critical satellite booster technology. Clinton also personally gave first approval for carrying out a scheme to fork over, to the terrorist nation of Iran, blueprints for part of a nuclear bomb---which enabled Iran to "leapfrog one of the last remaining engineering hurdles blocking its path to a nuclear weapon."

Thanks to that traitorous act, Iran's unhinged short-version of Hitler in beard, Pres. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is currently threatening to annihilate Israel and the U.S.---which will ultimately cause the U.S. to have to conduct another war to remove his crazy a$$ from power, along with those of the mad Hitlerian Mullahs in dresses.

One can only imagine what Adolf Hitler would have done with nuclear weapons if he had aquired them. But Ahmadinejad has loudly and repeatedly opened his mouth and removed all doubt as to what he plans to do with them. It's part of his fanatical mother-of-all-jihads to prepare for the return of one Shi'ia version of "the prophet."

The only mystery left is how fast he can aquire nuclear weapons and use them. For, use them he will---given half a chance.

The world community can't afford to just sit around on its hands, while Iran develops WMD---hoping, up to the last moment when Iran is down to the only missing piece, that it won't be able to get the little button to set the suckers off.

Read about it below and here.
__________
"Bill Clinton Aided Iran in Quest for Nukes"

"In a hairbrained scheme that was personally approved by then-President Clinton, the CIA deliberately gave Iranian physicists blueprints for part of a nuclear bomb that likely helped Tehran advance its nuclear weapons development program.

The allegation, detailed recently in the book "State of War," by New York Times reporter James Risen, comes as the Iranian nuclear crisis turns white hot, with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad boasting ominously on Wednesday that his nation has joined the world's nuclear club.

Reports Risen: "It's not clear who originally came up with the idea [to give Tehran nuclear blueprints], but the plan was first approved by Clinton."

Beginning in February 2000, the CIA recruited a Russian scientist who had defected to the US years earlier. His mission: Take the nuclear blueprints to Vienna to sell them - or simply give them - to the Iranian representatives for the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Risen said the Clinton-approved plan ended up handing Tehran "one of the greatest engineering secrets in the world, providing the solution to one of a handful of problems that separated nuclear powers such as the United States and Russia from rogue countries such as Iran that were desperate to join the nuclear club but had so far fallen short."

He noted that thanks to the bizarre operation, Iran could now "leapfrog one of the last remaining engineering hurdles blocking its path to a nuclear weapon."

Ironically, Risen's New York Times has declined to cover Mr. Clinton's Iranian debacle...."

A new take on the "jobs Americans won't do" that require multi-millions of illegal immigrants to do them....

Like being a liberal U.S. Senator, for instance, as we are finding out how little those Senators are willing to do---except for scarfing-up pork to impress their constituents and engaging in obstructionist politics rather than completing vital Senate business.

Unlike the effective majority Republicans and some Democrat members of the U.S. House of Representatives who get it, Senate Democrats and some Republicrats are clueless and prefer to deal with the illegal-alien invasion into the United States politically, rather than do their jobs to uphold the Constitution, the rule of law and the sovereignty of our country.

Most Senate Democrats prefer the political solution of kicking the can down the road until after the 2006 elections. They are already registering illegal non-citizens to vote in that election.

This Congress, especially the Senate, has a do-nothing gridlock approach to problem-solving---in many areas of legislating. They are meeting for fewer days than most Congresses in the past.

The Executive Branch is no help either, as they continue to cram down the throats of the American people the false idea that the millions of illegal-aliens who are flooding into this country without permission are coming here to do jobs "American's won't do."

Smoke and mirrors rhetoric about "jobs Americans won't do" is insulting. It under-values American workers and flies in the face of the American people who have consistently made known that they do not want illegal immigration and open borders. The will of the vast majority of our people is frustrated and we are all harmed by the fact that our government refuses to adequately enforce existing U.S. border, immigration and labor laws.

There is no valid proof that there are no Americans willing to do those so-called menial jobs. What American workers do not want to do is work for employers who break the law by cheating the system and paying illegals less than the required-by-law minimum wage---or less than the prevailing industry standard.

Law-breaking employers are making increased profits at the expense of American workers, public services, and economy---all of which are being drained by multi-billion$ in illegal-alien remittances back to Mexico.

Well, who did those jobs before the illegal-alien flood? Poorly-educated American citizens, American students working their way through college, and legal immigrants have traditionally done the farm, food service, hotel industry, child-care, construction, and many other jobs---that's who.

If this country needs more workers than it has, then we can increase legal immigrant numbers and speed up the process for bringing them into the country. Those are the people who want to come here, are willing to go through the process legally, are qualified to come here, are healthier, are better educated, and want to assimmilate into our culture, learn our language, and become American citizens.

Unlike the demanding, blood-sucking anti-American illegals who maintain allegiance to their home-countries, legal immigrants don't want to sneak into their future country by the back door, be parasites that over-burden their future fellow-citizens, or exploit the country to which they have immigrated.

We didn't elect our U.S. Senators to go to Washington and play politics with the future of our country and its legal citizens. We elected them to follow the Constitution and U.S. laws---and conduct a vigorous legislating process that culminates in solving problems and protecting our security and sovereignty.

Political prosecuter Patrick J. Fitzgerald included un-related-to-charge lie in court pleadings filed in "Scooter" Libby case....Had to retract!

Political prosecutor Fitzgerald, who is out to bag a top official in the Bush Administration, has interjected his biased liberal political criticism of President GWB's reasons for going to war in Iraq---into a court case against "Scooter Libby," whom Fitzgerald indicted last year for allegedly lying to the FBI and a grand jury about what he said to reporters.

Having high aspirations to get himself elected to high public office, this political prosecutor's goal is to earn his stripes by accomplishing a high-profile embarassment to the the Bush Administration, a conviction of a top administration official, and to gain himself political points among---and backing from---the Democrats.

It needs to be pointed out that Fitzgerald may be operating in the capacity of Special Counsel without having the legal authority to do so. He was not appointed by the President, not approved by the Senate and not authorized by anyone to conduct a political prosecution against "Scooter" Libby---disguised as a lying to a Grand Jury offense---to advance the hard-left Democrats' and MSM's five-year-and-running war against Bush, his administration and the Iraq War.

The WashingtonPost, one of the most hard-left among the mainstream media, is still perpetuating the lie that Valerie "Plame" Wilson was a "covert CIA operative"---which she absolutely was not, according to officials at the CIA. And they continue, dishonestly, to spew that blatant lie at every opportunity.

So, let's see some proof of the validity of WaPo's and the rest of the MSM's stated claims that "Plame" was, in fact, a "covert CIA operative." And how she could be classified as such when she had been back in the continental U.S. for over five (5) years and was working at a desk job as a weapons analyst.

At the very end of the column, the WaPo---after getting in all their political points and anti-Bush mantra---finally includes this last paragraph:

"Libby is not charged with misportraying or leaking classified information. He was indicted last year for allegedly lying to the FBI and a grand jury about what he said to reporters. The indictment came as part of Fitzgerald's investigation into who leaked to the media the name of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame, whose husband became a public critic of the Bush administration's case for the Iraq war."

See the hypocrisy here....? Fitzgerald smears and tars Libby with the "leak of classified information"---even though Libby is not charged in the indictment for leaking anything---in order to get a conviction against him for lying. In other words, a conviction by association.

Somebody needs to tell Fitzgerald that this is a court case---not a political campaign.
